Apple carplay stopped working with iOS 13
2017 Camaro SS here, and Apple carplay has stopped working consistently since the iOS 13 update. I’m running 13.1.2 and it’s as if mylink doesn’t recognize it. It will work about 1 out of 10 times plugging it in. I’ve forgotten my car in the carplay settings on the phone and reconnected from scratch but no improvement. Things were fine with iOS 12. Anyone else having this issue? Are there any software updates that the dealer can provide that might resolve it?

If it was working fine before you updated iOS then it's the phone's software issue. I would contact Apple support and see if they have a solution, I've seen some people have issues with the update, my advice other then Apple support is restart your phone: if you have a 7, 8, 8 Plus, X, Xs, Xs Max, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max - Press volume up, then volume down, then hold the power button until the screen turns black then let go) If you have any other iPhone then hold the power and home button until the screen turns black.

Every time there’s a iOS update something gets messed up. Apple will tell you it’s mylink and mylink will say it’s apple’s fault. I would check apples forums and see if you can find the same problem over there. If not I would reset your iPhone erase everything and hopefully it’ll work if there was a corrupted file during installation. Just backup your phone on iTunes first.

Mine works just fine. Are you using a genuine apple (or MFi-certified) iPhone cable? Also make sure to check there’s no short where the cable usually damaged at (right at the connector that goes into the phone)

There are issues with the new phones and battery management. I had the same issue. If you can turn off battery optimization, it will work fine.

Yep, using a genuine lightning cable and even tried using a different cable today with the same result. I’ll give it until iOS 13.2 is released and if that doesn’t resolve it I’ll go to the dealer and see if there’s an update for mylink.

I tried doing this, same result. I was truly hoping it would be an easy fix. One thing I noticed is that the phone needs to have music cued (playing or going to be played) for Car Play or the media player to recognize it. Not much help, but there ya go. |

Couple options here. Some people have already suggested.
1) verify cable used is Apple brand or Made for Apple certified 2) make your phone forget your car then force restart your phone 3) using a computer restore the iOS version. This will do a full hard reinstall of iOS vs the delta updates via OTA (over the air) install on the phone 4) could be the rare MyLink glitch see, pic below Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I came looking for this exact issue. I have this same issue with a 17 2SS and it’s driving me crazy. The phone will charge so the connection is there but CarPlay won’t come up most times. Have to cycle the car and mess with disconnecting/connecting for it to finally connect.

It’s definitely something in the mylink system. The Honda Accord side is reporting that the new update 13.1.2 is working BETTER than before, text messages are now giving you the name in addition to the number, and five or six presets for answers. That wasn’t there before on anY honda vehicle.
Post your problem over at macrumors.com ,they are a good source for iOS queries.....
