Thanks buddy! That is a good question. What is the best time with tires only? Whatever it is, my first goal with the tires is a 10.7. Even if it's a 10.79, I'll take it.

You have gotten 1.65 60ft times so your launch is not going to get a lot better with out gear, or a converter to drop you 60ft times into the 1.50's. That is a .1 gain or a 10.80 pass. May need another 50 hp to get a 10.70 pass LOL

You're right about the launch as is. I've gotten about all TM will allow. A tune alone will likely get me into the 1.4s on the 60', but I'm still trying to get the best out of it stock, with and without a tire. With the tire I ran a 10.86 with a warm car and positive DA, so with the car iced down and better air, I see a 10.7X being very possible.

Does a tune cancel out all TM to allow a hard mash the pedal flash the converter launch? 1.4's 60ft is going to take a hard launch with a lot of tire and just pure hook. Can you do that on a drag radial?or must be done on a slick?. BTW, is the trans tuned to shift at redline 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift? Typically the the 8 speed auto short shifts 1-2 and 2-3 dont they...

I don't know all the details on the tune, but that's what GM did with the drag concept ZL1 that was getting 1.40 60s and I've talked to guys with Vettes and CTSVs that picked up 2 to 3 tenths in the 60 with TM tuned out or at reduced. The drag concept had a few other goodies too, but I'd still say I could get at least high 1.4s. The drag radial I'm currently using, which is basically a slick, will dead hook with the available torque I have now. I'd just have to see what it would do with additional torque. The 10 speed also short shifts the first two in stock tune.
