I did reset the battery connection after the p0300 at the track Tuesday, so no history codes during the issue, but I just ran it by the dealership for a scan and got

B3935 TRANSPONDER AUTHENTICATION
B395A REARVIEW CAMERA (does go out sometimes, no more than my other gm products lol)
C0242 PCM MODULE INIDICATED TRACTION CONTROLL
U0140 LOSS COMMUNI W BCM
U0155 LOST COMMUNI W INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
U0184 LOST COMMUNI W RADIO
U0401 INVALID DATA RECEIVED FROM ECM "A" HIGH INPUT
U042B INVALID DATA RECEIVED FROM CHASSIS CONTROL MODULE HIGH INPUT

thats all just in the last two days since I reset the battery Tuesday

Quick google shows other GM products having P0300 and U0401 and it being AFM lifter failures etc, but if I have a mechanical failure how is it fine when the batteries reset

I wonder if my gas theory was true it'd be

P0313 – Misfire Detected With Low Fuel Level

which to my knowledge I haven't had, but maybe that was in history codes we couldn't see at homestead, and the one we could see was just p0300

The lifter doesn't have to fail totally.

I run 4.6sec 0-60s in this car (21 2ss 1le a10)
my 2020 ss a10 easily ran 4.1-4.2 regardless of fuel load and conditions

also, in my 2011 & 2017 Silverado there was a big jump in the instant fuel economy mode in v4, same with my 2020 1ss

with this car, it gets the same or worse milage when it switches to v4, even at 50-55mph

possible afm lifter failure? I wonder if that would involve p0300 and only happen after a few hard track laps tho?

I should note the engine doesn't sound bad, other than the occasional drops in RPM/semi rough idle ive experienced in all my GM DI products, some worse than others

I def found the previous owner of that car on this forum, spark plugs replaced 3x among other things to no fix, I called that dealer in Clearwater to see if it was fixed and they still don’t know what’s wrong with it

Seems all those codes are just related to the battery reset/the p0300

Doing a ton of searching for fuel starvation scenarios on track with camaro’s and not finding anything. I came across the corvette forum, a few c7 owners w p0300 only on track, and instances of filling up after that session with the CEL, going back out with no more issues

And i dont think my car runs like a car that has a problem

Im in a grey area being I have a 2021 certified pre owned, and yes no lemon law for used cars in Florida, but allegedly still considered new if within the first 24mo (original lemon law period) even if youre the 2nd owner

Update - low fuel no longer a suspected issue

Car did it again last night, driving really relaxed, no more than 10% throttle or over 30mph just cruising last night, about 30min in flashing CEL, service rear axle etc. Pulled over shut off the car and restarted. Drove it to the dealer this morning.

P0300, tech found 210+ misfires on cylinder 1, less than 2 misfires on others

Got an appointment for Monday to put it under the knife, will keep y'all posted

Tech thinks intermittent coil issue, or a coil pack wiring issue, plug issue

What do you guys think now that we know its 210+ misfires on cylinder 1? and 0, 1, or 2 misfires on other cylinders?

side note I cant say how relieved I am that the issue finally occurred on the street instead of only on the track, and that we were finally able to see the cylinder that the misfires were on, and that the dealers going to actually take it apart lol

Can I ask why you only run 1-3 laps per session? Seems like a lot of money spent for just a few laps.

FWIW, when I run at Sonoma, or Laguna, here. I do all sessions (usually 5), and it's usually about 15 laps per session, unless there's an incident. My son and I both run 1SS 1LE (mine is '18, and his is '20), and we've never had any issues.

FWIW2: We always start with a full tank, and we run them until the low-fuel light illuminates.

I was a race car driver for almost 10yrs so I’m not gonna go any faster by running a bunch of laps hahaha, I treat it like qualifying, go out, run 2-3 bangers and call it a day. Saves tires, brakes, less risk inherited, also the tire and brake degradation will get substantially worse with heat, so I am saving a good amount of wear and tear
