Wi-Fi Setting Greyed out

2022 SS. I went into the system setting the other day and noticed that the Wi-Fi network setting selection was greyed out. I tried with the ignition on and with the engine running. Any idea why this is greyed out and I cannot get into the Wi-Fi settings? It used to work, now it doesn’t.

Any Ideas?

Sorry, I have not encountered this issue. You didn't pull a fuse for OnStar or anything like that?

^^^ This.. WiFi is through OnStar so if you didn't pull a fuse for OnStar give them a call. You probably have to have an active OnStar subscription for that to be enabled.

Or, since you’re dealing with a computer, disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes to power-cycle the system and see if it comes back.

I have the Remote Access plan. This is all I've ever had after the 90 day(I think) complimentary plan expired. It has always worked. Don't you need Wi-Fi in order to check for system/app updates?

I'll try this.

Have you called OnStar? What did they say? My wife has Remote Access in her '15 Impala and that does not include WiFi.

You don’t need Onstar for WiFi to work. I didn’t have it and used my phone as WiFi in the car. It’s something else.

Try this

Need to know how to reset Chevy MyLink? It’s very simple. To reset your Chevy MyLink system entirely, hold down the Home and Fast Forward buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. Doing so should reboot the system and resolve any problems that you’re having.

Do you have a source that states that?

https://certsimple.com/can-you-get-wifi-in-chevy-without-onstar

All the options in there to get WiFi in your GM car without onStar involve other devices like a hotspot from your wireless provider.

Right from the OnStar Website

It's the wife hotspot in your car. You need to pay for a monthly data plan.
