The fact that it may draw people onto the dealer lots is more of a happy accident (for the dealer) than deliberate, in my opinion.
Makes sense - but you'd think something like inventory would be more controlled and updated. Meaning, might want to do that in-house versus by some 3rd party. The in-house dev team could have much more control & the site would be more accurate. Ah well.

Im waiting on a call back from yet another dealer just to see what they have to say.

Dealer websites use multiple third party software to show vehicles online - and in my dealers case we cant take a sold order (or a vehicle with a deposit) off the website unless we mark it sold. Marking it sold before paperwork is actually done creates multiple issues.

Ah, but what is considered in-house in this case? Keep in mind that dealerships as business are independently run and separate from the manufacturers, a lot like the McDonald's down the road is owned by someone other than McDonald's corporation.

The manufacturers may be large enough to support a team of developers to do this and keep up with it, but really once they invoice the dealer for a vehicle and it's off the factory lot, they no longer own that vehicle and they've made their money. The dealers, being smaller companies, use 3rd parties because it's a cost effective way for them to do it.

Don't get me wrong - as a customer it's frustrating and I wish it was easier to track an ordered vehicle. I'm not trying to defend the status quo, just explain it a bit.

Understood - a reasonable explanation.

Dylan,
Can you please update us on Thursday, November 11th once the new list of constraints is released? We would greatly appreciate it or give me a website address where I can check it for myself. I've looked and can't find one.
Thanks,
Mike and several others...

I am waiting on a 2SS convertible to be built. When I see these constraint tables I am assuming that CAM includes coupes and convertibles. I get confused with the GM talk as it says CAM and then 4 columns over it says 2SS Coupe and doesn't mention the convertible.

So does that mean 27% of all available allocations can be ZL1/ZLE or 27% of normal order quantity? How does the % work?
