I had mine done recently as well using stealth for the front splitter and side skirts. For those of you that did the front splitter in ppf also, does it lift where the crease is near the center? Mine has lifted and not adhering. Installed this 2 weeks ago. My installer, who is a very reputable shop and been doing this for the last 16 years warned me that the ppf may not adhere to the plastic pieces like our splitters and will lift where the creases are. I told him to do it anyway. It's lifting on the driver side but fine on the passenger side.

If yours are OK could you guys post pics of yours so that I can show my installer that it's possible. TIA

What brand out of curiosity? I’ll have a look at mine in a couple hours. I think I would have noticed lifting like that. I wonder if he could use heat in that area to help it adhere better?

Thanks. i believe Suntek is the brand. He said that because the film is stretched tight that it lifts there plus the plastic material doesn't help it adhere.

PPF installed on hood

I had Xpel PPF installed on my car and they used the matte finish on the hood. It still has the same stock appearance to me. Name: CF602F23-141E-4C54-AE78-917E3E937C08.jpg

I am very happy with the results.

The one photo has the tear in the PPF. The other appears to maybe have a bubble. Could be some crap too. I got about 7500 miles. The guy I used applied Suntek ultra.

I know my installer had hell with all the satin areas of the car that he applied xpel stealth to. He said it did not want to adhere to the parts at all. He got it done though & I haven’t had any issues with it

My ZLE was fully covered over 2 years ago. No issues of lifting on the splitter or skirts. They used 3M Xpel. If you are doing the hood and Matt areas make sure they are applying Stealth. My local dealer did a full coverage on a 2020 ZL1 1LE, and they destroyed it by using standard gloss all over. Looked like dogs turd and ruined the overall appearance.

Don't cheap out on your installation. Do your research and ask to physically look at vehicles they have covered. Your paying for workmanship and patience - not the cost of the film.

To close..... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

So it seems that the xpel film adheres better to the satin than the suntek does? Anyone else have input on theirs? My installer said he will redo it for me if it gets worse so if the consensus is that xpel seems to adhere better I'll ask him to use the xpel on the splitter. I don't have any issues with the side skirts so far but it also doesn't have that crease. Thanks for all the input so far.

Trust me I didn't cheap out. This installer did great work. Rather than use pre cuts for the bumper, he did a custom cut 1 piece and I couldn't even find the seams or the edges. They did great work. Plus I live in CA so this type of work is more than likely more expensive than anywhere else. My guy typically charges $3000 for full front ppf. And he charged me 500 for the skirts. No cheaping out here. So I definitely agree with you.

My Suntek has adhered fine. I think there may be one bubble there but my skirts, diffuser, and splitter are all fine. I will say and actually forgot to mention that my installer did not do my side view mirrors. He preferred not to because he said for the amount of cuts it would look like crap and you would be able to see the cuts in the ppf. Other than those mirrors the whole car is done. I think he did a great job. He said the front of this car was the hardest he has done.

I had a guy in Stoney Creek do it. He owns Menace Rides. Take some pics of the lifting. If you want PM the pics to me.
I am happy with the job he did.
