Lazy / laggy throttle

My ZL1 has been exhibiting a lazy / laggy throttle, almost feels like boost lag on turbo car.

You can roll on throttle, stomp on throttle, but there is noticeable delay before engine actually reacts.

Car is completely stock! Check engine light is off. Not sure if any pending codes, but I have tools to check.

Looking for things to look for or to check.

Power delivery used to feel almost brutal, lately it's mehhhh

Either you're getting used to it like we all have at some point, or the weather where you live has gotten hotter. That can cause the "laggy" or "laziness" you are describing.

I'll have to data log throttle input vs actual opening.. i wear there is 2-3 second lag. Data will set us freee!

It's also hot.. hi 80's.

yeah it's been really hot here the past few days and I have been getting some weird laziness and inconsistent acceleration. only had the car for a month so it was alarming at first

+1 on the heat, happens on my car occasionally, too.

The heat affects power but never have I noticed a super laggy throttle response due to the heat. I wouldn’t buy that it’s normal. It’s 95+ here a lot, and my car is just as responsive as ever.

Don't get me wrong, mine is never "super laggy", as in, nothing happening for 2-3 seconds like with Vtor_ZL1's car, just somewhat worse/less responsive than in outside temps between 65-70.

Electronic throttle control, is NOT Cable Throttle Response, I'm use to at the Drag Strip. When I Raced my 22 1SS , I couldn't cut a lite , for a few runs til I reajusted my lites , and with my Z this year was a little different but got it dialed in . Heat I've noticed does play a part in response here in the desert summer time today was 112 degrees. This doesn't happen frequently (at least to me ) at the track . Almost like a Hole in one at Golf , well kinda . .000 lite
1st pic was this year with the Z , 2nd pic was last year with the SS .
Happy Motoring

I found what appears to be likely culprit. When one of the intercooler hoses was replaced, the shop did a shitty job of purging the air.

After too many everything is OK, i stuck on section of hose I had from previous purging and low and behold, she burped like a drunk sailor and sucked down tube full of water. Curious, I refilled it and happened again. FA, i was mad. Stuck a funnel on top, added some water wetter and more water. Kept poking the valve until it stopped. I purged some air out of the bras screw and allowed water column to push out all air until water was coming out. I repeated a few more times, with engine on until I could no longer feel bubbles in the hoses.

I am looking at external reservoir option now to eliminate this as potential issue in future.

Throttle response appears to have improved ( placebo effect? ) and whine of blower is once again bit more pronounced.

Anybody tried adjusting the pedal sensor ala this Vette thread? No pics but the way he describes the assy it sounds very similar.

I have a similar issue with my M6 when going into first gear from a standstill. This issue was discussed when the ZL1 was first released and was related to eLSD. I wonder if these are related.
