Wheel Nut Torque? 140 ft/lbs?
I feel like I read somewhere that 140lbs was reccomended for either all camaro SS's or the 1LE but I can't find any info on wheel nut torque in the either the manual or HP supplement. Can someone help me find this info?

You did read that, but we have some doubts as to how true it is or isn't.

From my 2017 owner's manual. Guess you could always call the service department.

Why is there a "discussion" on this? The owners manual says 140, that's what it is!

When I took my wheels off to install the c7 Z06 fenders this was a point of contention for me too. I ended up going with the owner's manual at 140 ft.lbs.

Looks like someone found a link to a manual that once read 110 lbs. I just found 140 in 2 separate locations so I'm going with 140.

The reason he found two settings is because the owners manual was changed and the 140 #for early owners manuals was an insert that fell out of the book when you picked it up. So the original early Camaros said 110, but it was upgraded to 140s just like the new owners manuals. |

I just realized, my torque wrench only goes up to 125 ft lbs...now I gotta buy a new one just for the few times I take the wheels off this car...poop.

Don't overthink this… I wouldn't buy a new torque wrench. Just check it often at the max 125 and you'll be fine. If you're going to the track it's a different matter but for daily driving 125 is more than enough.

Yea... I'm pretty sure we only torqued mine to 125 when we put my other wheels on. But I've had zero issues.

I had to get a new heavy-freaking-duty torque wrench when I got the Camaro. . Past cars had been in the 95-105 ftlb range .. child's play. 140 ftlb = a MAN'S car. lol. Although I think the center locks on the Porsche GT3s are like 500 (can't remember but it's something fairly astronomic).

Luckily my torque wrench goes to 150 lbs so I am good to go there. I have to admit that when I put the wheels back on after painting the calipers - getting to 140 took an extra big "grunt"! I needed a nice rest break after doing 20 of them.

This is the wrench I use. 250lb limit so 140 is nothing, no elbow grease required.
