Dealership Oil Change/Help

Just got back from my local dealership. I scheduled an oil change, since I can't do my own. I need to invest into some ramps or a lower jack. This oil change just raped me $141. Any input on doing own changes are considered

That is not an outrageous amount.

10 quarts of oil and filter is roughly $100 in materials.

Especially not at a dealer.

Costco now sells Dexos Approved Kirkland motor oil. Two Five quart containers for $29. Most likely the same quality as any other name brand motor oil. Probably made at the same factories too! If you have the chance, next time doing it yourself will save you a good amount of $$. If not, look for deals such as coupons for oil changes.

Walmart has the 5 quart bottles of Mobil 1 5W30 for $23 each and the AC Delco filter is less than $10. Buy some good ramps and start doing it yourself

I just did it myself recently for the first time. Bought a couple boards at Home Depot, 2 x 8 , 4ft long, and attached to the Walmart ramps I already had. I also bought oil at Costco that was previously mentioned. It was fairly easy.

I picked up a pair of Rhino Ramps from Home Depot for about $40+tax a couple of years ago. They work fine for doing oil changes.

I paid just over $100 for the new 0w 40 esp at the dealership. They used to charge me just over $50 for the 5w 30.

A bit pricey if they used the 0W-40 ESP oil.

You got scammed if they used 5W-30.
