1971 Datsun/Nissan 240Z owned since 1987. Original engine with 283k miles currently.
My sister in law, waaaay back in 1985 , had one sold it for nothing , I was going to buy it , but was so engulfed into Drag Racing , and back then American Car guys weren't particularly into foreign cars. All my Drag race buddy's bach then laughed.
Beautiful Car my friend , hind sight is 20/20 .

Yeah a lot of ignorant EV hate out there unfortunately. I think part of the problem is the annoying Musk/Tesla culture.
Tesla fit and finish can also be below par for the price point and dealing with Tesla service can be cumbersome which further gives a Tesla a bad rap.

We had a 2019 Tesla 3 Performance for almost 4 years before getting the Plaid. Great little car and never really had any issues with it other than stinky AC and a flat tire that required a tow to Tesla (nail). A Tesla Mobile Service person was able to come to my house and fix the AC.

Every person (including car enthusiasts, "EV haters") that has been in my Tesla M3P and Plaid were thoroughly impressed and surprised.

Ive owned 24 performance cars since I could drive and the Plaid is by far my favorite overall. Truly impressive acceleration from any speed, especially once the battery and drive motors are at an optimal temp. The power is so much fun and never gets old, all while being comfortable, practical and reliable. Not a track car but handling capability and feel are much better than you'd expect for a car this size and weight. Plenty capable for most street driving situations. Brakes are good but get a little sketch at speeds above 130mph. I will be upgrading the brake rotors in the near future.

Best of both worlds to me is a fast and comfortable EV to daily and a performance ICE car for the weekend.

Sorry all for rambling and going a bit off topic

As a car enthusiast I still of course desire performance gas cars, but mainly on the weekends.
Don't misunderstand, I don't hate EVs at all. I'm just saying that while the power is certainly eye opening in my car, I can already feel myself getting used to it, for better or for worse. I almost bought an EV recently when I was looking at buying a new family hauler but, I decided not to just yet. But I suspect in the near future that I will.

In the mean time, I'm going to keep pushing this car little by little to see where I end up at. I think I only want to be a hair quicker but that's it. Afterwards, I want to focus more on a Porsche that can handle real well, rather than chase straight line speed.

Yes you can used to pretty much anything no matter the powertrain type and there will always be something faster.
Chasing straight-line speed/acceleration can be an endless endeavor and money pit.

That said, the Plaid just does it for me in so many ways. I'm just as happy with it several months later as I was day one. This thing just rips!
Other than liter bikes, I could never say that about any other car Ive owned or driven (including ICE modded or stock and other EV's).
I even enjoy driving it around in sport mode at times which is a much lower power level but still very quick.

Good luck with your Audi TT or Porsche, they're awesome cars as well

TBH I'm not sure why you are still here and not on the Tesla forums It's okay, don't get me wrong, this is a public location, I just genuinely don't get it.

For us we travel a few more than 3 times a year , and like the 450 to 500 miles pre tank full of Petrol, fill up is a 20 minute fill-up and restroom stop. I have nothing against EV , just doesn't fit our needs . So we purchased a 22 Chev Blazer RS , it's the wife's , she had choices between Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac. She's a GM gal.

100%. I was brain washed for years too into thinking EV's were lifeless. After taking a chance on a Model Y long range, and driving it for 6 months, my wife and loved it so much we bought a Model X Plaid which we've owned now for almost 6 months. We drive it more than any of the cars we own and we have several high end vehicles. It really is a lot of FUN to drive.

I genuinely don't know why you care. The Tesla forums suck. I'm also a camaro overall performance car enthusiast (as you can see in my signature..) not some tesla fanboy. Even been considering getting a ZL1 manual vert to replace my Miata in the near future. Love the Miata though, dont know if I can part with it.

I completely get that. I don't own a Camaro anymore but, I'm still here, too. I'm sure others have felt the same way about my presence here but, I still very much enjoy these cars and find it advantageous to be astutely aware of these cars and advances made with them. It's also why I'm still a regular on the Corvette Forum, too.

I am not anti EV, but I am anti anyone that says it’s better for the environment. BS! I also am not sure how they will perform in -30 degree weather. Someone else can find that out.

Well, the colors and the smiley in your sig led me astray along with your several recent posts gushing about the Plaid... sorry about it. Indeed you have a large number of other posts, and I wouldn't accuse you of being a fanboy. Glad you find this forum better than Tesla fansites
