Handle near seat base

I have a 2016 1SS bought new, and never noticed this before.
Yesterday while cleaning it I noticed what looks like a handle on the outboard side of the seat, near the floor. Pulling or pushing didn't seem to do anything.

Anyone have an idea of what this is for [other than to eject seat]?

Those aren’t handles…

They’re the seat belt retractor/pretensioner #3 on diagram

Personally, I'm rooting for eject seat.

Wouldn't that be great! But to eject the person in the passenger seat!
No more, "Would you quit swinging me around so much?! You're making me anxious!" then WHOOSH- THEY'RE GONE! But unharmed and free to pursue a life of religious fulfillment.

That handle unlocks the extra 100HP. You just need to pull on it harder!

That sounds like a good made for TV movie! With a bit of James Bond and Kitt thrown into the mix

To be honest I should have put that last part in quotation marks- LOL.
It's part of a line spoken by Leslie Nielson in the comedy "AIRPLANE!" as his nose grew longer and longer as he lied to the passengers.

I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley.
