CAN bus - Linux - Python

I’m currently working on a “third party” project that will utilize Python on a Linux platform.

Have any of you worked with the CAN bus to pull data (specifically PID’s) into a Rasberry Pi via Python on Raspian?

This would save me some research and time.

I started, had the odb cable wired up (was going to tap the canbus via the odb2 port). Had the canbus tranceivers hat on my teensy 3.5 (or 3.6, i forget) all ready to go in a nice little module.

Since the teensy has 2 builtin hardware canbus ports, I was going to man in the middle a device, so I could replace some arbitrary bcm with my own after it learned the appropriate responses during startup to not trigger any error codes.

The need to do that to any given device though kind of petered out. I currently dont have anything i really care to change enough to invest the time.

I haven't played with the CAN bus yet but I will sometime. I'm currently screwing around with the interior spectrum lighting. Just sniffing right now but almost at the point of injecting my own signals.
