I mentioned this to my service advisor. He listened to me, then wrote ddown the name of this forum and subforum.

When I picked up the loaner car, he said the tech did not think it was the check valve because (he said) that check valve is in the back of the engine, and the tick sounds like it is coming from the front.

I am still thinking they will call me and say that it WAS the check valve. But I also have read threads on here where entire engines were replaced over ticks.

If they can't figure that sh!t out in over a months time then its time to fly in a GM engineer in from MoTown. This sh!t makes no sense. Tied up for over a month and still no answer is completely unacceptable.

I know they have turned the car on the last 2 days because I have gotten OnStar notifications for a CEL.
Good luck my friend, keep us updated

Sounds like incompetent service. A stethescope should be able to narrow the sound to within a few inches of the source. Contact GM.

On Friday, I got OnStar notifications of a CEL, so I think they were working on it Friday. I called the service advisor and got voicemail. On the message, I asked if they had called the GM field service engineer yet. If I don't get a call first thing tomorrow (Monday) I am going to contact GM Customer Service.

Use stethoscope or big screw driver and check out 2 pleases.

1- The fuel line, exactly when the fuel line go to the engine, driver side, here there is fuel check valve , it makes tick.
2- EVAP valve, it’s beside throttle body, BMW cars have tick sound comes from it.
