Well, we have a reason now (CF-X). Hopefully I’ll get it done before July.

Looking good!

Hopefully the taillights cost will come back down. It would be well worth the wait. For a while it was the CHMSL that jumped in price.
Thanks! The smoked CHMSL alone definitely changes the look of the rear. The red stood out like a sore thumb (in my humble opinion). BTW, what kind of prices were people paying?

It was 30-60 bucks when first starting. Now it’s over $100 after GM made it an accessory part.

Yeah, they introduced it with the ZL1-1LE and they under estimated the demand.

Love the finished look. (Just need to get those reflectors replaced.) I’m thinking of getting some dark ceramic exhaust tips to go with the dark inner parts.

Come on warmer, better weather.

Nice! That's the look I'm going for except I'm single tip on my Turbo RS!

Thanks for the explanation on the pricing. I thought I got a decent deal paying $105 with free shipping when in fact it's a huge jump in price vs. when it first came out. Just like OEM smoked tail lights.

What are some aftermarket wheels people are running on their 50s? I think I want to go to 305s tires on the rear and am contemplating just getting the wider tires for the stock rims or doing it right and getting wider wheels too. I like the 50s rims but idk... Will 305s be okay on stock width rims? Maybe someone can share pics of aftermarket wheels or wider tires on their cars too. Thanks

I don't think you want to put 305's on the stock wheels that could be problematic. The only wheels I'd say are nicer than the stock wheels are the 1LE wheels or MRR replica's shown below. Just my opinion.

Hello.
Do you know if GM continues to recommend mobile1 dexos2 0w-40 oil? or has it changed to another type?

Yes they do but 5w-30 is just fine. There is a thread on it where they ask the engineer. He says 5w-30 is still great for street use and that 0w-40 dex2 ESP6is best for both worlds, for street and track. I just made the switch after 100k miles of 5w-30. No issues so far after 300 miles.

I love the look of the stock wheels as well, but always wanted the 1LE setup 285 front 305 rear, so I went with MRR M755, the ZR1 wheels.
I’m really happy with my setup, gives the car a more aggressive look!

Did you repaint your calipers? They don’t say Fifty on them. Or are those three ZL1 calipers? But those wheels look sharp.

You can email the GM Heritage Center gmhc@gm.com asking for the build number and supplying them your VIN. Keep in mind they will report back your number out of 5,955. The total global build number is 5,982 due to test models and what not.
