Nitto NT555 G2

Anybody run these on there ZL1? Pros / cons?

I was looking at the Continental Extreme Contact Sports but the price just went up $100 per tire at Discount Tire. Almost as much as the PS4s now.

The car is a weekend toy so I cant justify spending that much for tires when I rarely push the car to its max potential.

I've got them. They are okay. I've had better, I've had worse. They are decent in the dry, and fine in the wet. For a daily driver tire, they are great. They corner well at street speeds, they hook in 2nd (M6) with stock power, but not in first. I've had ps4s, and those are amazing. These aren't close to those, but they are a good tire.

Spend the extra coin on the ECS.

Those Nitto G2's don't hook under power...and I know that from personal experience.

The Michelin pilot sport 4S is going to be your best all around tire for dry conditions and wet conditions, particularly if you're not going to the track or the strip

The original question was about the G2, not the R2. I find it unlikely that the G2 would hook a ZL1 even in 2nd gear, which I assume means a slow speed and max torque rpm (3600-3800-ish) after a downshift.

Well, I've got G2 not R2 in 315/30 in the rear, and I can tell you on my drive home I hammer it in 2nd almost every day at this one flat spot with no traffic, and it hooks.

I hammer from 1st gear and the G2's did not hook even close to my satisfaction.

If I don't hammer them then they are ok, but what fun is that lol.

Yeah, they spin like mad in 1st. But if you are cruising in 2nd and floor it, mine hook. Maybe my car only makes 400 hp or something. Lol

That's how I run it on my Demon, no need in wasting the drag radials on the front.

So did you relocate your drivers side wiring harness? Do the 315s rub at all during hard accelerations?
