The rule of thumb and a hp/et calc both suggest about .1 reduction for every 10hp at this hp level.

I just reduced my rolling weight by 100 lbs. and I'm thinking about 2 tenths. If I had E85 and another 30 hp it might be 3 tenths or more. So, I think this combo and E85 should be about 4 tenths or 11.64 since my previous best bone stock was a 12.04@ almost 116. I think I'll pick up a tenth in my 60ft with the drag pack. If I thought I could make this E85 happen this week I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I haven't used my hp tuners since I built my 82 Malibu lsx wagon. Not even sure if I remember how to use it.

So straight tune, and e85 gas, no other sensors needed???

I think what he means is laynlo15 can tune it with E85 for his upcoming race. Without the sensor hookup, the ECU won't know the ethanol content, and therefore won't be able to adjust for a variance in eth content. That would not be a problem though, if he is using the same E85 to race as he used to tune.

Exactly. No need for the sensor if you are going to control the ethanol content. My E85 straight tune is not some arbitrary changing of the gas tables. I generated spreadsheets to do the exact same interpolation the ECM would do as if the sensor was installed for each and every table we have access to. I also generated a Matlab script to take my Dynojet data and calculate the proper shift points for the A8. 1->2 and 2->3 shift points are fine but 3->4 and up extend too far with the E85 torque curve. These are assuming the stock intake manifold. The MSD intake manifold will push the shift points up.

Did you do your pulls in 4th or 5th gear?
