Looks like a cool office!

I snuck into the office today to pay some bills, and take a delivery that was en route already when our Governor issued the stay at home order. Other than that we have to be closed till April 7th

Speaking as an engineer, there is soooo much comedic gold in that line. I would suggest that they are co-dependent.

My company’s production is also deemed essential so the line remains open even though the state now has a ”Stay-At-Home” order. Construction equipment.

Us engineers were the first office personnel to transition to working from home. Now that everything is cloud based we literally just took our computers and monitors home. I’ll go in Friday for a prototype test.

My career is the same, we are working and are in full force. I work in healthcare. Work has picked up like nothing I have ever seen in my 14 years of doing this. We were short staffed all along. January and February saw me working 60-85 hours a week. But now it is even worse. If it continues to get worse then I could get mandated to work 24 hours, several days, a full week, or longer. We're facing shortages on staff and supplies. Morale is getting low. Workers are getting more and more terrified. We have workers getting sick and I mean severely sick. Others are soo exhausted that we have some getting dizzy and even fainting. Some workers are going into retirement early. Others are choosing to stay home, others are refusing assignments due to shortages of supplies. And so on. It is very ugly out here right now. And I assure you all that we are not over the hump yet. Matter of fact you might see less of me here because I might be too busy and tired to come on here. My job is basically offering unlimited OT. And I have agencies that are calling me left and right begging for workers to travel all over the country. As well as Covid-19 units that are opening up and looking for workers. It is very dangerous work...but the compensation is very good. I could probably double my salary...if I survive that is, lol!! So that is a plus.

On the positive side of things I notified the dealership where I ordered my C8 that I am still going to buy it when it is ready. In fact I mentioned to them that if someone has a cheaper trim and is looking to back out due to layoffs or uncertainties then I might consider buying theirs AND mine! LOL!! Wishful thinking. One 14 week assignment should more than cover it based on some of the offers I'm getting. I truly have never seen anything like this tho from how deadly this virus is to how much work is out there. In my opinion, we could be looking at the beginning of the healthcare system completely crumbling.

With that, maintain social isolation when outdoors. If possible, stay indoors. And even indoors, maintain distance. Many of our HCPs that have families are staying in different rooms in their homes. If you want a meal together then do so but keep distances. No coughing or sneezing or anything that produces droplets. Wipe down surfaces with alcohol or other disinfectants and sani-cloths. Wash your hands frequently and lather them for at least 20 seconds. Take every precaution and safety measure possible. Because trust me, from a first hand view, this virus is not something you want to get or transmit. If you have small children then be extra vigilante. Because if you end up having to go to the hospital, or if your child has to go, then you or the child will be there alone with no visitors as visitation in all facilities is strictly forbidden. Of course there are caring HCPs there that are very attentive. But still, you don't want to have to know that your child is sick and you can't be there.

Anyway, sorry for the rant but I felt it urgent to let you guys know what is going on out there...and about my C8 updates, lol!! Hopefully things will turn around soon. I hope I am wrong but unfortunately I do not think it will. I won't derail the thread (any more than I just did, lol) but if I do come across something then I will try to keep you guys aware. Be careful out there guys.

Had a local member of my Corvette group drop his allocation that arrived at the dealership yesterday for his C8. It sold in a couple of hours.

Yea I highly doubt these cars will be stuck on the lot. They all are going to sell.

What type of construction equipment. I work as a mechanic for a pretty large construction firm. Business as usual for us guys.

Part of the "Camaro Fifty" gift pack. Chevrolet sent to all original US buyers of the Camaro Fifty. There's also a graphic art poster for all the other generations. Gen 3 and Gen 4 are over my left shoulder. There's also the ZL1 smokey burnout included in the pack. Still looking for the right wall to put that one up on.
