ZL1 convertible owners

What are the opinions of the vert owners of the chassis stiffness? There seems to be more of these available and may consider one instead of the coupe'.

If this is just a street car then you probably won't notice any difference in the handling or the lack of E-diff in the vert. It comes down to whether you like the look and the extra cost $6k + tax associated. Top down provides for a great driving experience but I am not a fan of the look with the top up, which is 99% of the time.

I didn't know the vert was missing parts (e-diff). Are there other components deleted....other than the roof.

AFAIK, the ZL1 vert with an A10 transmission gets a standard LSD with a 2.77 ratio rear axle and the coupe gets the E-LSD with a 2.85 rear axle ratio. I believe in manual they both get a 3.73 rear axle. Other than that the vert gives up some trunk space and weighs about 200lbs more than the coupe as a result of the top motors and some extra structural bracing required on the chassis due to the lack of the roof.

If you are looking for a cruiser then the convertible will deliver but if you want the best performing Camaro, go with the coupe.

Fantastic. No shake, no rattle, no roll.

These things are rock solid.

There's an extra 1/2" or so steel brace on each rocker, in addition to the X-braces, that the coupes don't have.

The Camaro Convertible is no wet noodle. Quite the opposite, actually. There’s very little, if any, noticeable cowl shake. Would I call it vault solid? Not quite, I can feel a bit of quiver through the chassis over very bumpy sections of road, but overall the car feels plenty solid and well engineered. Also impressive is the air flow management over/around the cabin during top down driving. There’s very little wind noise and buffeting. Additionally, road/traffic noise and cold weather driving with the top up are also well controlled. The top must be fairly well layered/insulated.

I think you get the best of both worlds. I love the look of my convertible and the performance is awesome. I did a 11.5 second pass on street tires and then drove home from the drag strip with my top down. I agree vy427 the wind buffering noise in these cars are great with the top down. I drive around with my top down talking on my bluetooth and everyone can't believe how clear our conversations are.

The convertible to me was the only way to go.

If you are just going to cruise, the vert will be great (if that is your thing)... If you are going to hard core track, go for the coupe...

My only gripe with the convertible is you can’t take it to any track, would need to add a roll cage. Car drives great and handles extremely well. If ur not gonna track it, vert is the way to go
