HELP! High RPM Shift Problems TR6060
Hi Everyone- I could really use all of your input- Ive got a 2017 Camaro SS with the TR6060 (6spd manual) I am having big problems when trying to shift from 3rd to 4th, or 4th to 5th but ONLY when RPM's are ABOVE (about) 5000 RPM. It feels like Im just locked out, so I have to give it about a second for the RPM's to drop by a couple hundred, and then i can continue to upshift. The car shifts perfectly in ALL other situations. So far the only mods I have are a GM performance cold air intake. Custom exhaust including headers. I have a SCT BDX tuner- im using a remote tune- I spoke with person who wrote the tune- he said he didnt mess with any transmission settings. The car has NEVER been tracked, Never seen any kind of crazy burnout. Ive lit it up a couple times but very quick. I dont beat the shit out of it. I have good habits with the clutch- dont grind gears. Dont miss shifts. I dont ride the clutch. Car only has 12,000 miles. I dont know when this problem started because im not always driving really fast and aggressive like this. I do know that months ago, it did NOT have this issue. Its still on its original trans fluid. I did buy RP Synchromax but have NOT put it in yet. I am a Ford technician- work at a Ford dealer. I have limited transmission work experience though. I havent brought it to the dealer yet. Id like to fix myself first, IF possible ----What could be issue?? Fixes???

Mine does this from first to second only, but higher rpms. Same thing about hesitating to shift, works perfectly that way. I have redline atf which seemed to help for a little bit, but it's back again.

Same here, went to the dragstrip last night, had 2 runs where I couldn't get it in 4th. Ran a 12.71 on my last run, missing 4th got me eliminated...

STIG- Have you come up with any explanations with your problem at the strip?

Same here from 2-3rd at high RPMs. Feels like you hit a wall when trying to get 3rd. Does not do it all the time. For me only happens at the track, I would say once or twice during a track day.

with your tune did they raise the rev limiter?
i see its been a few weeks since this post was made. This was happening to me when i had a non experienced tuner tune my car. Put your rev limiter back to stock and you'll be just fine. I have videos showing what happens, might even have it on my youtube channel.

Bleed any air that may have found its way into the clutch system since its shared with the brakes, and trans fluid is my recommendation.
