There is something special about a car that is only offered in a true 3-pedal manual. The S2000, Viper, 1LE, and a few others belong to this elite club and if the 1LE left that club, she'd lose a large part of the charm that makes me love her.

I don't care how fast a computer-controlled transmission shifts, its boring.
And the Civic Type-R.

-spend $20+K modifying your car and probably destroying the interior

-buy a clk gtr
-buy an ascari a10
-buy an atom 500
-build a locust 7 with a bike motor/trans
-and I guess a couple smaller low production cars like lotus and ultima

I have been wanting a real sequential for along time

You forgot the E46 M3 although the lack of a clutch pedal there makes it a pain in the ass. I realize why they did it, people wouldn't know what to do if they got into a car with steering wheel paddles and a clutch pedal, but it drives like ass at slower speeds.

There are two parts to an "real" sequential transmission - the gears are engaged sequentially by a mechanism (transmissions designed to be sequential from the start have a cylinder that engages different forks as it spins, with the shift lever/paddles/pedal spinning that cylinder) - and dog engagement instead of syncros (that's what allows shifting without using the clutch). You can still slip the clutch a bit, and you should from 1st to 2nd, to reduce stress during shifts... unless you're Mr. Moneybags or you're trying to win an actual race and the car will be rebuilt anyway.

I did some research a few years ago, and there are a couple (few?) companies that offer 1-5 dog gears for Tremec boxes... I would consider doing that and leaving the H pattern. I wonder if we could have a steering wheel button to engage NLS - that way you can just put pressure on the shifter, press the button, and you're in the next gear... hmmmmmmmm.

5 Gen tranny but no 6 gen tranny

Old Thread but had me thinking it would be nice to have but the cost.

5 Gen Camaro can get a sequential tranny for $35K, dont see anything for a camaro but I did see Katech put one in a Corvette. Man put that in a Z28 and what a ride that would be.
