My passenger seat is stock for now. Until I feel like spending the money for my passengers.

I personally tend to take passenger seat out on track days. Installing this to solve a problem much more than for style. I may decide to do the passenger seat as well if the look bothers me too much. I'm for sure planning to do a DIY rear seat delete kit. I can just pull those bastards out on Autocross days because the buffeting at lower speeds isn't all that serious, but for HPDE no thank you.

So I went to do the install today without the wiring harness. I was prepared to deal with the airbag light on for the short term until I get the harness and ran into what I considered to be an issue.

I realized that the seat belt buckle itself is attached to the wiring harness and I REALLY don't want the annoying "buckle your seatbelt" chime going off non-stop. D'oh! Does anyone know what happens if you just leave that part disconnected?

Yup, you are correct. I guess I'll just order the damned harness. Need to use the car tonight and didn't care to listen to the chime every few seconds. Can you please post a link to the one you ordered?

I haven't done this yet, but I'm told others have.

Go to your local Chevy dealer and have parts order a seat belt extender. They are free. Cut the webbing from the part that inserts into the stock buckle.
Insert it when you are using your harness. Keeps the seat belt warning system from activating.

There is no seat belt chime if you remove the belt from the car

Yup. I did that test last night. All that happens is the same airbag light as when you take out the passenger seat, so not really a big deal IMO.

Unfortunately, the Sparco base/bracket is designed TERRIBLE. It is literally impossible to use without modifying. The problem is that on the inner side you can not fit the bolt no matter which way you go to turn it. I'm going to have to drill out a hole so I can fit the bolt through. Not the end of the world, but not what you expect from a reputable company to say the least.

TLDR; buy the BK bracket.

Yikes!!!

I had to modify my harness bar mounts to get the stock seat belts in, but it wasn't like that. That's hard to believe they'd design it so you can't get the bolt in.

I'm going the BK route, it's an adventure for sure and expensive. Using R-9061 Side Mount Brackets for Sparco Evo-2 US & Sparco Corsa
