I'm not trying to bash you simply giving you a bit of warning it can happen quickly and I've seen it happen.

Are you leaving traction control on? I bet the ECU is freaking out hitting those rumble strips that hard with you jerking the wheel.
You're supposed to use the whole track, including the strips.

I'm not at all out of control.

This was a competition called Octane Time Attack. I placed 3rd overall for the championship for fastest lap times and won the championship for most consistent driver.

ECU is always in PTM race.

You were giving it the Beans. Nice driving!

I can see why the bag blew, based on some videos I've seen explaining how these systems work. It sensed incipient rollover, and the system worked as designed.

YOU didn't tip it, but if this kind of vehicle movement happened anywhere but a racetrack, in the average person's hands, the car would have probably rolled, and the bag would be considered correctly deployed.

Glad you are OK.

Yep, that is the exact reason. At least every single time I have seen one where all the seatbelts are locked up, you have to replace the retractor assemblies and the SDM, along with all the airbags.

I wish there was a way to disable air bags, I hate them.

Until they save your life and/or reduce the severity of the injuries you sustained in a crash.... Or better yet... a loved one.

Your 3 runs back to back to back...that third run you ate up a lot more curb. The car was wheel hopping badly.

Looking at video frame by frame ( , and . on youtube), its seems pretty clear clear car goes off the curb into the grass and when it comes back over curbing, there is big jolt, you can see infield grass and rear end catches and tries to toss the car. Infield looks well kept, I've seen track where there is crazy ruts just off the track surface.

Garage door opener falls down - there reason loose items dont belong in a car on track day - they become projectiles.

3 Laps, same section of track.

Lap 1 and 2 - on the curbing, Lap 3 - in the grass!

Definitely a code brown!

The Recaros are OEM seats wrapped in "Recaro" material. According to the factory service manuals the OEM seats have airbags.

OP let us know how the dealer goes!

Yes, I took more curbing on the last lap trying to get a fast lap. You can see in the pictures you posted, there is a brown patch on the inside of the curb that is just dirt. This is where they filled a rut from cars driving over it. I can tell you people have taken my exact line through there and haven't had airbags deploy. You can also see in the video on the other corners where I hit the grass cutting the corner, but no airbag deployment. All the fast guys get in the grass trying to shave a hundredth of a second off their time. I was a tad ambitious going into that last turn and was carrying more speed than usual and I guess that was enough to trip the sensor.

I'm glad you're ok and that the damage to the car wasn't worse. It'll be easy to replace the airbags and seatbelts and then be back at it again.

Pretty sure I blew my drivers side air bag. Had to get a full upper and cover plus the bag.

EDIT. Found it

As you can see. Deployed air bag, from the factory Recaro seats in a Gen6 ZL1.
