Lowering Springs - 2018 ZL1/Updated 2017s - What are you running? Pics?
Looking at lowering springs for my 2018 ZL1. I heard that the 2018s don't lower as much with springs originally designed on 2017s due to the whole spring issue/recall/tsb etc. whatever it was. I want the car to drop a good amount, but don't want it slammed and I don't want the ride to suck.
I know kttxz06 has a 2018 with BMR's and it sits awesome with his Incurve wheels. I've only see a few others with lowering springs on 2018s and they don't drop too much as noted. I'm worried about going with the Phastek PX1s because even though they'd probably drop it the most, they're not exactly a suspension company. I would trust BMR/Eibach etc. a lot more. The Eibach 1.1" springs look good. BMR is the standard fallback for me. Anyone got pics of their ZL1's lowered? |

Seeing lots of people getting barely .25" lower on 2018s with BMR/Eibach springs. Most people, including me, are coming in at 27.5" front and 28" rear, BMR's seem to be around 27.25" up front and 27.75-28" rear...

I have a Phasetek springs and I haven't had any issues with it. Springs installed with less then 1K miles on the odometer and about 5K on the car right now. Lowered it about 1" -1.25" Only time I rub on anything is when I don't take a incline at a angle. I am sure they are not making it themselves. I am sure they have a 3rd party manufacturer making it for them. Not too many companies out there that can manufacturer car springs...

My 2017 with 2018 update springs sits perfect in my opinion. The front is lower than the rear. The issue I see with many of the aftermarket springs is they seem to lower the rear more than the front.

I guess my 2017 came with the right springs front and rear. I remember the issue but don’t know how many were affected. I know the gap between the front and rear tires/fenders is not as much as the 2018s and 2019s or at least it appears that way to me.

The updated part # for the springs on the convertible is 84312736 and 84384681 for coupes.
The bulleting # is 17-NA-208: (Front Trim Height is too High) Applies to the 2017 Zl1 Camaros from start of production date - April 12, 2017. Any other ZL1 Camaro that was built after April 12 2017 will have the new updated springs. Last edited by Ever7six0; 03-06-2020 at 06:00 PM. Reason: Updating |

Thanks Ever7 for the information! My ZL1 was built on April 10, 2017 and I’m sure the front springs weren’t changed to the new ones. I checked a month or so after I bought it last March for the TSBs done and the springs weren’t on the list.

I have a set of Eibachs in my car and they are perfect. Car sits like it should have from the factory.
