NPP 3-way switch location [pic]
Don’t know if anybody else has mounted here but this is working out well for me. I unplugged and completely removed (from underneath) the cigarette lighter chrome piece. The 3-way switch then snapped right into the GM black housing. The spring loaded door shuts flush.
I never used the lighter anyway and I still have one under the arm rest, so no loss really. Total cost was $5 and some wire and time. The 3-way flexibility is valuable to me. Factory - Full open - Full closed |

How do you make it fully closed. And I like your location.

You have to hard wire it to the small fuse block in the trunk. When I have more time tomorrow I will try to find the Camaro5 link with the instructions on how to do it and copy it here. It’s pretty easy. Check back.

Looks like you had to dremel the switch bezel a bit to clear the hinge?
Great job man, nice clean install. I love when people share their ideas here.

Thanks for the compliments on location. I did not Dremel or cut anything. The dark black plastic in the picture is my switch, the light black/grey plastic near the hinge is from GM. That is the OEM cigarette lighter housing you’re talking about. The dark black switch just fit and snapped in.

Have about 10 feet of three different color wires. I used those male/female flat slip connections on the ends of my wire instead of soldering. That way I can easily disconnect if needed. When running the wire have a yard of that black flexible wire loom handy to slip your wire into. I ran it up and underneath the passenger seat and then right up under the center console. You can’t even see the black loom. Completely unplug and remove the cigarette lighter silver part. I made “-“ as factory setting, “o” as open setting, and “- -“ as full closed. **Done at your own risk** Last edited by Black 6.2L SS; 11-16-2019 at 03:58 PM. |

same basic effect as removing the fuse for the NPP exhaust, but alot more time and effort is involved, but with the switch you can allow the NPP exhaust to function and close as designed by GM.
removing the fuse just leaves the NPP open all the time, and costs nothing but about 5 mins of your time.

i didn't put mine there but just on the side of the center console. i absolutely love it and i have in depth pictures of doing mine. i just have not been about to put them in a presentation yet.
For those asking about how, here is one of the main threads about it. https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=318683
