It depends on how much clearance there is with the suspension. Your inner rim / tire will be 5mm closer to the suspension than OEM.

well the worst case scenario is an eventual catastrophic failure of your tire and / or suspension parts, but its my understanding that is not likely to result from a 5 mm difference in offset, as there is likely more than 5 mm of clearance on the stock setup. Hopefully someone else can chime in as well but it would be possible to use a spacer to get it exactly right I think, although I'm not sure its needed with only 5 mm difference.

If someone is trying to get the most camber out of their combo, the 5mm makes a difference, ya know, when you are sweating the small stuff. On my 5th Gen, I can get -2.3 degrees of negative camber. I could actually get a little more, but I start to get too close to the strut. So, i just stay safe to maintain good clearance. But when you start to play around more, like with buying different wheels, for example, knowing the correct offsets is very important. So yes, the impact could be small. But get it wrong and don't verify tire to suspension clearance and you will have contact. So when you are trying to maximize your combo, that 5mm plays into that. It would suck to know that wrong info was part of the equation.
The offsets are stamped on the OE wheels, so that would be our true info. If anyone could shoot some pics that would be great. Yes, spacers can be used but only if you maintain full thread engagement in your lugnuts.

I use this calculator because it takes into account the role the tire plays: https://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp But it does not take into account any clearance to the suspension with diameter change.
