Replaced oem silver with black gorilla lugs. Definitely feel black rims need black lugs. Not so stoked on how I can see all this unfinished surface area because they're smaller diameter. Going to have to get in there with a small brush and touch up paint.

A great in between product of a high solids coating and the TurlteWax is Gyeon CanCoat. You will be amazed at the water behavior (looks like water is scared of it) and the High Candy gloss it gives.

Easy as the TurlteWax to apply and yo will get 1-1.5 years of protection.

Cancoat can be easy BUT. I put it on my car when I got it in august. Not sure if it’s just riverside blue but it seems GM paint is very sticky and Cancoat was a pita to apply and remove. I haven’t had issues with sticky paint like this since when I had a 2012 wrx back in the day. I used Cancoat on my buddies 911 after I polished it and it took me 15min and was easy as can be but on GM paint I will never use it again as it took me 2hrs because the application and removal was awful.
I polished it again before I put it away and used Gtechniq CSL and that went on super easy.

Perhaps you may have applied too much or your paint had not had enough time to properly cure. Typically you want the paint to have been on the car 60 days before wxaing/polishing it. The instructions on the bottle say don't apply too much. One to two sprays per panel. And also shake the bottle well before applying to keep it mixed. I've used Zaino products for years so I'm used to applying a small amount of product when applying it. I had no issues with the application on my car. And I applied it over Zaino polish.

I wasnt using the turtle wax.
I was talking about the Gyeon CanCoat.
I have been doing this for 17years so I know a thing or two on how to detail a car professionally.
Paint is fully cured by the time anyone gets their cars from the factory.

Did you polish first?
If not how did you decon wash?
Did you use a panel prep wipe?
How hot was it when you applied?
Did you wipe off right away?

I’m sure you prepped properly but I added these questions for future readers

I can’t speak for riverside blue but I am on alot of detail forums and have not heard of anyone having issues with CanCoat and Gyeon CanCoat.

Would say your application issues are in the minority.

Glad the CSL worked out and it’s a better product anyway.

Was looking at black lugs the other day. (I agree with you) Saw those Gorilla lugs and wondered the same thing. I also do not want a lug that you need some special socket to get the lugs off. I want a set that is just like OEM lugs but black.

wouldn't trust anything not up to OEM spec on a sports car.

why not just purchase the correct ones?

They seat fine in the bevel of the lug hole. I'm a pretty mild driver, mostly just cruising around town, and will never track it. I have faith they are sufficient. It's more an issue of how the rims are finished. I got the Gorilla lugs based on a handful of other people here mentioning them, and ordered them from Phastek specifically for 6th gen Camaro.

But yeah, I hadn't seen anyone sharing a picture like this before.

As you're now realizing, lug nuts like those Gorillas are slimmer than the OEM lugs. Most aftermarket wheels require this smaller diameter lug nut. The OEM lugs are 22mm. Those Gorillas look to be a locking lug, but likely similar to a 19mm lug nut in size. Even if you paint the exposed metal areas on the wheel, I don't think narrow lugs look right on stock wheels.

You may want these: https://www.shopchevyparts.com/wheel...-92303604.html

EDIT: They look to be out of stock on that link, but GMPartsDirect (https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...5553528?c=az0x) may have them or you can Google the part number: 85553528

Added some hood stripes and red stripes to the side also paint matched the tow hook.

I normally don't rave over white but wow! Your ride is definitely a head turner. Is the red stripe and accents paint or wrap? I cannot tell from the photo. I like the look.
