I have this argument with my import friends all the time. They throw a supercharger on their 16 sec car to get 13's. Then they think since my Camaro running 12.2 should be in 9's with supercharger. Once you get in high 11's and low 12's, it takes a lot of effort and money to drop a second off your numbers. Can't beat this car for the money period.

The mph alone tells a big part of this story. Let's all remember that this thing supposedly went 11.4 on a street tire. Not a slick, not a DR. Traction dictates elapsed time. Mph on the other hand is a better indication of power output. You can take a 3600 pound car and go low 11's at 120mph. Now consider adding another 300-400 pounds, air conditioning, a host of driver comforts and a warranty at 127 or better and you have one awesome machine.
If you're disappointed at any of these numbers take your car to the track and try shaving off a few tenths and see much work it takes once you're down in that time spot. I'd like to know what kind of 60ft time they had when they ran it. |

I traded my 2010 SS in for a 2012 CTS-V several years ago..This has got me pondering... Does anyone know when they will be showing up at dealerships?

That ZL1 is a beast... but I still hate the grilles on the V8 bodies. V6 is MUCH better looking.

In three years you think it will only have lost $17K off its MSRP price? Most leases are three years and I think residual value for most cars is like 50%-60% of new. So if that held here (may not since ZL1 is rarer possibly) you'd be looking at three year old ZL1s for 31K - 37K.

Oh man, I sold my ZL1 and got a C6 ZR1......these numbers are only slightly slower......for a much more modern awesome looking badass car! Crap, my wife is going to kill me if I get one of these and sell the ZR1. Gotta see it in person. I've only read good things.
