P3 Gauge worth the money for flex mix

I know there are apps out there that you can use to get your fuel mixture right but there is nothing like real time reading of your fuel ratio. Today was my second time filling up on the e50 run and last time I did the 1/2 mix and it was close but I ended up with a 44 mix and that was after adding the rest of the c85 my tuner gave me. So I purchased the P3 gauge and today was the next fill up. Once the light came on I stopped and put in 5 gallons of 93 and the rest another 12 gallons of e85. First go around ended up with a 53 mix. Ran the gas down a little stopped and put in another 2 gallons of 93. Now I'm at a solid 48 so I know what to do next fill up. I'll do 6 1/2 gallons of 93 and the rest with 85 so that should get me where I need to be give or take. But watching the mix adjust real time was nice so I can manage the blend without thinking too much.

Those that have questions about the mixing you can't go wrong with it.

Unless you're filling up from exactly the same level of gas everytime isn't it difficult to estimate how much E to mix in without some kind of gauge ?

You're right. I don't see how an app can exactly calculate what its going to take when you refill. I normally fill up when the fuel light comes on so I try to get it at the same amount but how do you know how much is left in the tank at that time.

well you can guessamate about 5 gallons per quarter as it holds 19 total. logger can tell u how many gallons are in the tank. I use the n gauge but not many around any more but their are others out there. pull up wait a min or 2 get the reading use the app and then u can nail it........ IF ha u know what e value is coming out the pump and varies due to time of the year. Around here I use speedway and its 85 all summer. Throntons a couple days ago was 60 being January. Like King says u can guestamate drive around a little then adjust accordingly.

Ok this is reassuring
I moved last June and FINALLY have access to E85.
I am confident an E blend would really make my car consistent and smoother

AEROFORCE Gauge Shows E quality

I use my AEROFORCE gauge and ONE of the parameters is E rating. When I go to my local KROGER store, it tells me my E85 is actually E80. If I use the MURPHY gas station down the street THEIR E85 is actually E70.

The other day I got stopped by a big power NA MOOSTANG when I was filling up at KROGER and he wanted to know what the E rating actually was so he could let his tuner know. I am not sure what good that will do him though. (LOL)

The difference in power is negligible between E70 and E80 so I would not worry too much about a 10 point difference. In SOME places though the E mix goes DOWN in the winter months significantly so you have to watch that.

Highest quality E85 is actually from VP racing or IGNITE Fuels (see below). https://vpracingfuels.com/product/c85/?c=215&
Their C85 is ALWAYS 85%. They CLAIM a 4% power increase vs. standard E85 and I will be testing that shortly. For me that would be about a 25HP improvement but I have no doubt your tuning tables would have to be adjusted upward to provide more timing to get those numbers.

Plus the damn stuff is about 17.00 a gallon compared to about 2.40 a gallon NOW for E85 at Kroger. Since I use ABOUT 30 gallons of fuel on track days, that is significant.

IGNITE Fuel Info:

Ignite RED is E90 (12.00/gal), Ignite ORANGE is E85 (11.00/gal)
