Just throwing it out there, but I have Ted Jannetty's smooth idle terminator cam, and it doesn't exhibit the "lopeyness" you probably didn't like in that youtube video. It has the mildest of cam shake and chops, still detectable but not excessive, and the +32% fuel lobe allowed for more than enough performance to meet my needs. The exhaust note did change somewhat, but that cam isn't the only change on my car (it has a blower and long tube headers, too), so it's a compound effect and I liked the end result overall.

I like the cam lope as long as off idle light load drivability is there . But maybe you’re right a smooth idle cam with less overlap might be the key to keeping the sound in line. For some reason that video had a farm truck tone. Not sure what was going on there

The jre or katech lt1 torquer might be an option

Can anyone confirm or disprove if the 8 non dod lifters in a LT1 are LS7 lifters. Just curious.

The V220 should still have plenty of off idle throttle response...It's the largest offering BTR recommends for the L86 truck motors. So, if it will work well in a truck application, the throttle response should be solid in a Camaro.

you know this as well as anybody. vvt & compression will generate more off idle and low rpm response than any street tire can handle.

i had planned on using this camshaft in my camaro. with no rear gear options and 3600+ lb i think it would work great in a street car.

i sold the camaro and moved to a lighter chassis, still m6, but with rear gear options. i'll still stick with a btr camshaft but go bigger.

Can’t believe you sold it but glad u still have a v8 in your life..and sounds like a fun project

It’s down to a katech torquer and the 220. I’m 99% on the 220. The timing should be for next fall tho but I’m going to start getting parts

look at the dyno graph on the v220...still 400+ ft/lbs at 2k rpm vs the v230 which is down 50ft lbs at 2k... most cams around 220 intake duration on a 6.2 should still offer close to stock like tip in throttle response since they don't give up much if any low-speed torque. Once you get mid upper 220's then you start to give up low speed torque for more mid upper. Then you want gears/converter/compression to help keep it from being a turd down low.

I had cam motion make me a sub .600 lift cam with gentle ramps, it has been many years now and I just added rocker studs, cleaned the intake ports, check cam wear and all looks good. I'm sure I gave up say 15 HP on this street lift, street ramp cam, but the ability to do 100,000 miles on my engine was far more important. It has been years now but if you guys do a search, I stated WAY back then that the ramp profiles were all wrong on these high lift performance cams and it had NOTHING to do with the valve seat, valve head (in some cases), or even the lifter (though I would recommend Johnsons).

I’m looking at getting the El-C7 cam from Texas speed. You say that their cams beat up the valve seats. Are they are stock valve seats?
