HOME SECURITY SYSTEMS????

I'm looking into getting a home security system, just curious on what system you use, if you like it and is it monitored? If it's monitored how much do you pay a month?

Thanks for the info, Jim

Simplisafe. Put it in yourself. Same as rest. Monitor on smartphone and they monitor it. Smoke detectors hooked into it and cameras. Cellular and or WiFi connected. Doing good so far. Easy to do and doesn’t break the bank. Also take it if you move.

Thanks, and Zed Sled I have plenty of that kind of home security but when I’m not home I need something.

i looked into Simplisafe, and in order to monitor on your smartphone, you must buy a service plan.

Careful you don’t have too many bullets or too big of a magazine in NY!

I have not seen any numbers on Simplisafe because I’m not in that end of the business anymore. When I was, there were several times I went back in to install a real one when one similar was stolen along with what they were trying to protect. Just saying.

I use Front Point. Price varies depending on how many monitoring points you have - doors, windows, smoke, glass breaks, motion, cameras etc. It's a monitored system and you can also use your phone to monitor, turn on/off, etc. Check with your home owners insurance. They generally give a discount on insurance to most reputable monitoring firms. Mine runs about 42/mo. I replaced Brinks/ADT and would NEVER go back to wither of those.

You should be worried that 3 transvestites would come in thru the window and 2 of them hold you down while the 3rd does your hair.

You need to install the camera up high, so if they want to steal it they have to get a ladder. The same with the alarm system. Criminals don't have a half a brain. At least once a day in Vegas someone is shot and killed for breaking into someone's home. Those are odds I wouldn't want to play.
