Dan's Red Hot 2022 2SS 1LE

Picked up a 2022 2SS 1LE on Tuesday Aug 09, 2022.

I called dealer after dealer after dealer trying to get my hands on one in transit, finally found one three hours away from me.

Congratulations! Welcome to the 1LE Club.

You've already got a pretty good wishlist going.

The whole install took about four hours (I worked real slow, had some issues getting the bumper off). Overall, I'm extremely happy with the result.

I like the looks of the taillights for sure. If I'm still happy with the ZL1 after a year, I will certainly consider swapping the OEM tails out. They are pretty pricey.

Heh, you've just proven that these taillights were actually designed for the Camaro, not the C8 They look so much better than the refreshed '19+ tails.

Great job on the install, too, it's such a PITA that the bumper has to come off to remove the tails on these post-refresh cars.

You're not kidding! I couldn't find a good tutorial on how to take the bumper off, had to piece it together from several videos. None of them told me about the clips at the top center of the bumper. I had to plastic weld some of those back on :(

If it's any consolation, I did find a video from Lethal Garage that mentioned the slotted plastic panel with the clips and I still managed to break if off What a cheap attachment mechanism.

Garage Update

This isn't so much as a car update as it is a garage update. Decided the Camaro needed a nicer place to stay so I updated my garage with a new floor and painted the walls. I think it turned out well.

The gross stains on the floor were not mine, image 2 shows the state of the garage when we moved in. :-/

Looks awesome! Nice job.

Just curious, why didn't you paint first and then do the floor?

Thanks!

That was the initial plan but things got in the way. The floor was done by someone else and they came out before I got around to painting.

I see and understand. Sometimes things do get in the way. Regardless it turned out great.
