My closest call was with a mustang, T1 at VIR he came in too hot and almost smashed into the back of my car. Luckily he decided to turn left and went into the grass and crashed by himself in the wall. I think his original claim was that I slowed down too much which is ridiculous but I think in the end he accepted it was his fault. I was roughly 5-7 seconds faster per lap than he was and he was running slicks on his car. Not to mention if I look at my video footage my speed for turn in for T1 was the same on my fast lap as it was on that particular lap he always ran into me. Wish I had a better video of the near miss but the camera doesnt really cactch it since it's facing forward. He must have missed my car by less than 1 foot. I suppose it's possible he takes a different line into turn 1, maybe wider with a late apex. But I think the was caught offguard by the closing speeds w/ hard braking from 140 MPH down to 50's.

I am honestly incredibly scared of mustangs, I think every single trackday I've been to a mustang has crashed or flipped, it's pretty crazy.

Thanks for sharing Christian. This, along with the video Wontspeak posted earlier in the thread, an a few others posted on youtube made me start worrying about the cars behind me.

Crazy that he tried to blame you for it. Even with a slightly different line he was going A LOT faster than you at that point, and no way he was gonna make that corner based on what little I can see in your video.

Yeah I'm starting my turn-in at just over 60mph, he must be passing me at 80.

Not super close, but lots of cars went off at Mid Ohio yesterday. This Miata demonstrates the risk of doing a late apex on the carousel.

^dont know that track yeah, late apex and trail breaking into an off camber corner… looks like several missteps.

Not as close as some others. But coming out of the pits at NJMP lightening i had quite the surprise lol.

Its an Advanced group, open pass only at main straight, I did not give him a point by because he was nowhere near me when I was mid corner.
That car is about 18secs a lap faster than me, smaller than a Miata and the same color as asphalt.

That looks like a pro driver not giving a F@&$ about HPDE rules or participants, and considers trading paint a day-in-a-life.

Also want to see it. From the photo you could say you were passed by a Miata going backwards.
