no oil pressure...after turbo install...

So I had my turbo kit installed. finally got it tuned ( don't even ask about that lol - but thank you to diablo for getting it sorted). I took it out for a drive, and the car got HOT! within a min or 2...clearly the radiator needed to purge. took it back to the shop, added coolant , restarted...another drive...car was running fine, temp was good. took it back after a couple min and dropped it back off...

fast forward today. they are moving my car in the shop, start it up and 0 oil pressure. they quickly turn it off. change out the filter, still nothing...now looking at dropping the pan to check the pump...WTF could've caused this??? car is NOT cammed...I am at the end of my rope with this..something that should've been relatively easy has turned into a nightmare.

Was the oil pump ever removed or upgraded? LS3 or L99 car?

Well a couple things :

1. The relief valve sticking on the factory O/P has been a known issue on LS3 cars. Some guys have had no issues on a modified (and Stock) LS3, and then all of a sudden, boom, zero oil pressure.

2. Now might be a good time to upgrade your O/P to a melling 10296. Considering you have a Turbo, and they are primarily oil cooled, it wouldn't hurt to get a better Oil pump.

For now, focus on why your Oil pump had pressure, and mysteriously doesn't after the shop touched it again. A cam would be nice on your setup, but not necessary with how efficient a Turbocharged V8 already is.

Keep us updated as they take your Oil pump apart, you might want to take pictures. Check your O-ring as well.

so they pulled all the turbo piping, and front off, and dropped the cradle to pull the pan off to check the pick up tube (and pan for any metal). pan was all good, tube checked out fine. so they took out the pump and I put in the melling that everyone recommends (10296 iirc). shazammm...I have pressure. more than I did before...actually almost pegs the gauge at full throttle high rpm.

so my car is back in business and the shop hooked me up right on the deal. anything else I should watch for?

Speed limit.

Keep doing some logging sessions to polish the tune and for anything not in order.
