There are a few threads on sticking oil pressure relief valves. Some had pics of the oil pump (not the best machining quality).

I had the same problem before. And turns out to be the oil pressure sensor was bad. Replaced it and everything went ok.

Your problem could be something else. But don't rule out the sensor.

Don't run it! Take it to the dealer and let them check it!! Probably the pump!!!

Ordered my Melling oil pump Sat. and I'm hoping that this fixes my low oil pressure. I'll keep you posted.

mpsheedy,

Feel free to send me a message with your VIN so I can research any recalls possibly related to his occurrence. Did the dealer order the necessary part for you?

2G1FT1EW0A9141820. I ordered a pump from Phastek(Melling) 60 psi. I've had work done to the motor...cam,heads,headers....nothing to do with the oil pump if that's the problem. My brother and I will be doing taking the old pump out tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply,

There are no open recalls listed for your 2SS Coupe. Let me know if concerns remain after your part arrives.
