Magnacharger jackshaft bearing problem

Hello To All

I have 2010 Camaro L99 with MagnaCharger TVS2300. When my car was on dyno a loud noise with smoke came from the front of the supercharger shaft. immediately the engine was shut down and we found the bearing (indicated with the yellow arrow) was rubbing with the hub (indicated with the green arrow).

Now we are trying to remove the pulley carriage (indicated with the red arrow) in order to get the bearing replaced but we couldn't. I hope somebody can help with the following:
  1. How to remove the pulley carriage (indicated with the red arrow) ? we already tried to rotate it but with no success. Do we pull it with a pulley puller ?
  2. How to remove the bearing (indicated with yellow arrow) ?
  3. Are replacement parts available for the pulley carriage, hub and bearing ? (As shown on the attached picture)

Sorry if I misnamed the parts and for the picture quality

I would call Magnuson. That should be covered under warranty.

I had a grinding noise which I suspected was a bearing issue in about the same area. I sent them a video clip of the sound. They asked me to send the s/c back and they sent it right back no questions asked and no money out of my pocket. Great customer service.

I read yesterday that they had some problems in that area on earlier models. I would call them.

I already sent them an email and waiting for the reply.

I'm located in Kuwait, I don't think sending the unit to them is feasible. Sending the replacement parts with instruction is more practical and feasible.

You need to send just the jackshaft. I have changed the 2 piece hubs on my TVS before with a pulley removal/3 jaw puller set but I wouldn't advise doing that with the jackshaft. I can track down the part number of the pulley if you need it.

Thank you for the help.

Ted@JannettyRacing just replied me with the same.

But what is the part number for the part indicated with the green arrow ? and what its name - is it called "hub" or "Carriage" - ?

For anybody may face the same problem. I ended up ordering a new jack shaft assembly from Magnouson with both carriage front and back. Using a pulley puller to remove the pulley carriage is not recommended as the force applied on the center can easily damage the carbon fiber shaft.

What kind noise did you have? I'm getting a grinding/rattling noise somewhere under my hood that sporadically comes and goes, but can't pinpoint where it's coming from. It's most noticeable at idle and really getting on my nerve! I thought something on my exhaust might have come loose again, but everything there looks tight, so I'm lost on this one!

I just had to replace my jackshaft bearings, it was almost a grinding sound.. I spun the jackshaft by hand with both belts off and it was pretty loud. Almost silent now with new bearings. I have a few vids of the noise, PM me your number if you want and I can send them.

Since I caught mine before the bearings let loose, I was able to just replace the bearings which would cost maybe $10 vs $500 for jackshaft/carriages. Make sure yours are right!

PM sent... Was the noise constant or did it come and go?

Mine made no noise until it completely failed. I did notice about 1000 miles before it failed that I had some oil/grease on the back of the manifold. I assumed it was some residual seepage from the seals as I had just up the boost to 10#. The leakage was actually the grease from the sealed jackshaft bearing coming out. After that happens its only a matter of time until it fails!

Sent the jackshaft assembly back and got a replacement no cost! BTW only had 6K miles on it. Hope it don't happen again!

2010 Camaro SS Mgnuson bearing problem

I have a 2010 Camaro SS with 6.2L L99 with the Magnuson TVS-2300 Blower setup. The front needle bearing is bad...making noise. Magnuson wants to sell me the entire rotor assembly for $700 to get this bearing. Does anybody know how I can get this bearing without spending $700??
