Bad MPG?

Hi there. I just wanted to ask u guy's a couple questions about my 2010 2ss, 6speed. Right now i average around 12.5-14 MPG city and very light on the pedal. I did a second fuse pull about 2 months ago and my MPG dropped way down. I took it the dealer to get it scanned and they said it was fine. So i tried a 3rd fuse pull and the next morning the car got way better fuel mileage 20MPG . I left it for 2 days then started it up took it for a drive and the mileage went right back to normal 12.5-14 MPG. I think my car might be reseting it's self back to the low octane table which is why i'm getting horrible fuel economy. I only use premium fuel. Does anybody know whats going on. Why isn't it getting 17-20 MPG like it should. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the help!

City driving depends alot on how many stops(traffic lights and stop signs i.e.) you make and how long your stopped. Mileage while idling at a stop gives you 0 mph averaged in with your moving mph.

I only the brand name gas. And usually the same stations. Inexpensive gas costs more in the long-run. How many miles on your oil, airfilter, what RPM are you crusing at? All things to consider.

Hi there. My tire pressure is fine i check it regularly (36 psi) cold. I only use Chevron (94 octane). I changed my oil at about 1000 KMS and i'm currently at 2550 kms. So my car is still brand new. My air filter is the one that came with car. I think my cruising RPM is normal around 2000 grand. Is 12.5 MPG bad because i've seen this car get 18+ MPG city before?

something isn't right.. I'm at 20 mpg U.S. gal. city (with a little fun) and 26.5 Hwy. I'd go back to the dealer. Maybe fuel leak? IDK sorry. Let us know when you find out.

I have a 6.0 GTO M6 and if I'm trying really hard, I get 29-30 highway and I can average it out to about 23 mixed street with highway.

Its all about knowing when to let off the gas and let it coast my friend.

trust me i absolutly baby this thing. I don't drive it hard. Once in a while i'll get on her for sure but i ain't flooring it everywhere. I have a LT1 4th gen that get's about the same or better fuel economy. 12.5 MPG is not good. I guess i'll get it looked at again.

I get about 13 mpg as well. I am not too hard on the gas, but I like to get on it every once in awhile.

there's gotta be something wrong cuz I get like 19 on the street and on base. but on the highway I can get up to about 30. I think 17mpg was the lowest i've gotten without getting on it

If you have a good tuner up there have them log a file on the car. That will let you see what the timing , A/F is doing. I've had some 2010's come here with totally screwed up factory tunes. They ran fine but the fuel, timing was wrong. We gained good MPG retuning them.

I'm getting around 13 MPG right now (mixed city and highway- probably a bit more city though). I wonder if the cold here has something to do with this (and winter fuel). I'm not constantly romping on it either. I do have long tube headers, exhaust, a cam and tune on an L99. I hope it gets better as it warms up though.

My long term fuel trims are reading 5-6% so I don't think that is too far out of whack given what I have seen others with LT headers posting.

12-14mpg city driving here?

Now I have a canned tune, would it be better to have it tuned on a dyno?

I have a good tune from Jannetty but it may be my driving? I did take it easy for a couple of days and got 14 .... no where near 17 though!
