I have two small ripples near the left vent. I'm thinking about buying another factory hood and having it painted, like it should have been from the factory if GM wasn't cheap.

Apparently from what I read here the only reason for the flat black is so there isn’t any glare when tracking with camera

Since I don’t have the camera option it wasn’t necessary so in my case I am pleased GM painted it to match, then just wrapped it

Mine looks the same way, can’t really tell unless you’re looking for it. I’ll replace it at a shop not the dealer, once it gets all beat up, not sooner.

That cant' be correct. You can order an SS with the camera.

I did go Friday to the dealer and she was going to check with their warranty department. She said that it was definitely rippled, but couldn't tell me if it was covered. I had already placed a call to their service area to see if it was covered and they checked with warranty based off of my pics and told me it was covered....so I just have to play the game now.

Mine was perfect, but I used a heat gun and pulled it off! I think it looks much, much better!

After almost three years, the wrap on mine has started shrinking away from the vents so the red paint underneath is showing through. I'll find out Monday if the fix is covered by the Chevy warranty; it should be. The challenge will be that I have Xpel Stealth wrap over the factory vinyl, so I expect a pissing match between the two manufacturers. The solution I want is for someone else to pay for installing a single layer of Xpel Black Stealth. Let the games begin - all I know is it's not my fault.

I’m sorry to hear this about some of your hood wraps. Mine still looks great after 3 years. My son-in-law works at on of the main suppliers of wraps in Auburn Hills, MI. I’ve thought about it mine becomes damaged or starts to look badly, I might even put a different color wrap. Since my car is black, a contrasting color might be cool, just don’t know what color would be best...JM

I didn’t like mine and had it taken off when I bought the car. I love the color didn’t want it covered up.

Can we change threat title to "Who doesn't have a poor hood wrap?" Sad thing is mine is excellent everywhere including the edges, just one corner on the hood vent is fubar'ed.....

I pulled mine off too and like it so much better too. Before it just looked to me like I had to replace the hood and could not afford to paint it. But a lot of people like the wrap and I understand. Everyone has different taste.

Just noticed my ‘19 looks identical to this. Not sure if I’ve just missed it for 18mo or if it’s new. love the matte hood on my car.

mine was perfect from the factory. No ripples or defects. I bought the car out of state and drove it home. On the way home a rock hit the hood and chipped the wrap.

I will likely do matte black ppf when I do get it redone.
