I hope not. The last one reset a bunch of stuff like memory seats, Sirius, etc.

Is this because you have an OnStar service? I don't have an OnStar service on any vehicle and never had any infotainment update on any system either. Honestly not even sure I'd want an update. Sometimes when things are working good it's good to leave well enough alone. I think I'd only do a system update if something wasn't working.

I’ve gotten 2 updates since I got my car last August and each time hoping I’ll not be sorry I let it download. So far so good.

I'm just curious, if you are not paying for an OnStar service (which is what would give you those OTA Updates) How would you get any type of notification that you even have an update or be able to download and install it? You'd have to download it via your computer and install it over USB.

What’s the infotainment version number after the update?
My 2021 2SS says no update available. |

I'm not paying for OnStar either (didn't even sign up for their free service when I bought the car) and I received an update notification yesterday.

I believe the newer cars get the updates, but not the older ones. Don’t quote me on that though.

My 2018 only ever updated infotainment apps on its own, never the infotainment system itself, or maps, or anything else. I received a few peculiar default apps with the car, then later it automatically added a few by itself, plus I can install some others from the GM app store.
That was the end of it, I never saw any real updates, although I can tap the check updates button, all it's ever told me since March 2018 is that the software is "current".
