E85 question

I've read and heard that the stock headbolts should be replaced with non-stretch bolts if I go to an e85 tune....is that right or is it myth? I've heard the added compression stretches the stock headbolts and will eventually cause headgasket failure. I will eventually (after warranty) go with an e85 tune.

Myth. E85 does not raise your compression or stress the head gasket any more than pump gas. If anything, there will be less stress, as E85 resists detonation and detonation definitely boosts combustion chamber pressures.

Never heard of that! Maybe nitrous does something but not E85, been running it for over a year with no problems...

This is also something I’ve never heard about happening. Coming up on 2 years for me with no issues.

Did you read about this happening or was it word of mouth?
