turbo SS 1LE

last night i was hanging out with my buddy who just recently finished up his k swapped s2000 with a single turbo on it and it really has me wanting to turbo something.

has anyone had any luck with a single turbo setup on these cars? really dont want twins as i feel it would be more of a PITA.

Anything can be made to work. Single vs twins really comes down to preference. Are you capable of fabricating anything? What are your goals for the car?

As far as bolt on kits go I believe all that you will find are twins.

We have done some business with Huron Speed in the past and had good results.

If you can fabricate than an appropriately sized single will also work well.

Twins are the way to go in this case, it actually makes things simpler as far as exhaust routing. Otherwise you have to put one big turbo somewhere and run all 8 exhaust ports into it. That is not simple and it's far from ideal.

If you want a turbo just buy a T4 Camaro. It's FAR lighter and has 50/50 weight distribution. SS with heads and cam can make the same power as a LT4 pretty easily.

Of course if you want huge power a turbo 8 will do it. IMO it's a massive waste of money unless you're really into drag racing.

Just a fun street car with occasional trips to Mexico for some racing

Not sure I would suggest turbo then. Bolt on a blower with some port injection, ethanol blend fuel and a boost a pump. Laynlo15 on here has this setup making 700 wheel hp. Simple, easy and I’m sure a blast to drive. I love my turbo setup but I had a higher goal than just street fun.

The Hellion Twin Turbo system is the way to go we have done a few, once Properly installed and calibrated they will run for ever.

V8 Always do better with twins.

Plumbing a V8 to a single turbo with the space constraints of a 6th gen street car is a nightmare and the engine suffers from imbalance.

Ted.

I have a single turbo 2016 ss. Check out my threads for pics. It’s a lot of custom work to make it fit.
