question I have when you disconnect the cluster you said disconnect the usb... so when you buy that blue usb cable one end to the hud other to cluster??? in the pic I can see the other usb plug.. Where does both of the usb plugs go

If you're referring to the LVDS USB cable, then yes.

thank you for the fast reply.. i understand I buy the blue usb one end goes to hud other goes to the back of the cluster.. in the posts it says to unplug the usb and the gray harness.. in this pic shows the usb conn. (w/ black plug) where does that go?? I hope I dont sound like a dumb ass

To be fair, I traded that vehicle for my 2018 2SS Hotwheels Indy 500 Car. If I remember correctly, the end that goes into the cluster is similar to a mini USB connection. There is only 1 spot in the back of the cluster that it would fit.

after this one i give up lol in the pic there is 2 usb connections.. one it the blue wire that goes from the hud to the cluster.. the first usb connections that you unpluged when you took out the cluster where does that plug go.. (the one on the right side of the pic. black wire black plug)Again thank you for your help

If my memory serves me correctly, that isn't used anymore. That was for the "OLD" option.

Have everything needed to get my 2017 Chevrolet Camaro V6 1LT RS to have iO6, HUD, Spectrum Lighting on radio, cup holder, door trims, footwell, door sills, plus, enhanced 2SS cluster, and all GM oem new parts and accessories.

Only problem I foresee is wiring harnesses or splicing harnesses.
Willing to buy official harness and replacing. Okay if costs $500.

Will I need to add an amp or okay as is (without amp)?

Last but not least, only thing that is added is an extra footwell lighting for cup holder wire. But if needed for radio, probably not needed if I get wiring harnesses, etc...

So I’m only worried about harnesses and or having to splice wires (don’t want to splice the wrong one.

And 5Gen DIY cluster upgrade wire doesn’t have hud retrofit attached or this shit would be easy. But Gen5DIY says they are working to add a HUD retrofit pigtail to cluster add on wire they list for $192 and cents.

I have the complete wiring diagram manual. It should help. That's how I found what stuff I needed to include the proper ends and connectors.

Excellent thread! Are the 2019+ cars any different for this retrofit? I am planning this for a 2021 Camaro LT1 Coupe that came with the Technology Package (Bose 9 speakers and the 8” screen). I am getting the IOT swap plus upgraded cluster set up for HUD, both from White.

I retrofitted Night Vision into a late-model BMW so adding wires to existing connectors is ok by me. However, if a loyal vendor out there is offering a pre-made harness or a kit I’d be glad to patronize them.

I cannot confirm as my wiring diagrams are from 2016/2017 Model Years.

www repair procedures dot com has a subscription based service. You could pay for a day and download as much as needed. Or maybe find a PDF online of the full manual.
