New PB (restated in my Thread)

Cordova Saturday 10-20-13
DA 1250
Bolton
11.984
No upgraded TC

It was a tough day.
Day started at 850 DA.
Loaded old tune from Indy PB. Made first past -new Pb but no data log. 2&3 were both exactly 12.008 The 2nd was a much better 60, have figured out a few things(alway learning).

Since it was warming up and my sub 12s goal was slipping away, I loaded a higher trq tune only tested one prior.
The first two passes at this yielded a 0.02 slower ET, but the old spinning and controlled fish tail was present- the clouds took over and track prep went away too.
Didn't get logs on either -critical to new tune load-computer was messed up-wouldn't read data even after close/reopen/re-connect -had to reboot.
Last pass-was able to hold the slip better and pull out my PB.

Started to rain waiting for one more run-they called it.

Was good season, ups and downs.moved down to .5 sec faster was a challege-hitting high head wind and bad 3k+ DA posed its problems-but now is more manageable.*

Next phase is here.

Focus for spring is to get to #1 spot with current similar Boltons (uncorrected DA).
Ready for spring.

Santa's present (a financial and 'hands on' opportunity I couldn't refuse).
Will add it to the little beast early summer in between races when there's enough TNT dial in time. Will race it slower till cage later. Then the full boost and other mods can be added without getting booted off the track.
Focus for spring is to get to #1 spot with current similar Boltons (uncorrected DA).
Although not as fast, this SC is a better style for combo drag and Autox, than the centri blower and Holley I was planning.
The suspension, wheels, and drivetrain are ready to go as planned.
Ready for spring.

Tim
Nice!!

a little history

Just found this on the NMCA web.
The press stopped by and chatted a bit prior to the LSX Indy TNT.
My 5th Gen racing sickness background:
Pic #9 and text.
http://www.nmcadigital.com/2013/10/11/friday-updates-from-the-indy-world-street-finals/

Also had pics this year in:

NMCA - FSC Magazines
CamaroNow (CamaroFest Indy)
GM High Tech (CamaroFest Indy)
and
Camaro Performers (LSX Atlanta): pic 1 & 7(with my buddies)

And Camaro Performers march 2014- from BG KY Holley Fest '14

Guess there's no hiding it now.
Anything that breaks at this point would just be replaced with better Go Fast parts.

Good day,
Tim

New PB at RPR Camaro Fest

After getting to the RPR Baytown Texas track that is virtually on the ocean- Id thought Id run the DA meter around 8am - ~550ish - wow I thought- got to work for a record run.
Well by the time we were allowed to run down the track is almost doubled, but was still better than what I'd ever ran in.

First and second passes scored new personal bests - I was stoked.

Car 303 (normally 803):

R/T: 0.149
60': 1.778
330': 5.011
660': 7.687
660 mph: 91.72 mph
1000': 10.006
1320': 11.964
1320' mph: 115.20 (not my fastest of 115.69)

Date of pass: 5-2-14, 10:11 am. Weather conditions: Cloudy, Wind: Cross 10mph
Density Altitude: 1008 feet (Onsite Altronics meter:69F,44.8RH,30.08BP);
Brief Comments: Ran even had 3.8KR. More tune tweeking and diet would help.

Corrected for DA: 11.925 115.74 (Heavily Mod NA)

Good for #2 spot at an onsite DA as present/uncorrected (as Auto L99 with Stock TC & Stock Cam). I wish I could get Terry's -600DA, looks like he'll keep it out of my reach forever.

Had a great time and met many of my fellow racing enthusiasts.

Tim

Camaro Fest RPR Baytown Texas-V8 NA Modified win

Had a great time at Camaro Fest again this year.

The car ran great all weekend. Had some new KR issues that sprang up this year - worked on it some, but left it mostly alone due to limited TNT prior to Brackets.

Fridays Bracket racing went pretty good. Ended up 4th, after drawing a local that had his stuff squared away and great on the tree. I prefer and am use to the Pro Tree lights, so I'm still cautious on the Full to avoid Red lights. We only had 20 minutes down time and I was heat soaked. Should have dialed it slower, but didn't want to break out. My launch RPM was off and my AITs were high. Funny thing is when I got back to the pits, the DA meter said I'd run exactly what I did. Another tough lesson learned.
Kudos to my competitor -he did a good job and was great to talk to in the lanes.

The Saturday's event faired better, although the DA weather was higher.
My reaction times in Qualifying and first 2 rounds were great for me at 0.0xs. Ran a few times with little cool down bringing my times down a little, but I knew others had the same or worse temp issues.

Celebrated by just turned Odometer of 10,000 miles with a 1st place win in the NA (no power adder) Class. My final performance was average for my day's ETs and slower in RTs, but together faired 0.0078 seconds good enough.

Was a Long 1100 mile haul back home- but worth it to me for sure just to see the people and be part of the experience. Wish I had more time to check things outside of my pit- but pay to play as always.

Good day to you,
Tim

Last and best outing of the year.
Quickest 1/4mile on Camaro5 Fast list with Automatic and 'Bolt On/no internal Eng Mods' and a STOCK torque converter. I had PMd the others for their best ET before TC upgrade.

Top stats across the day:

1.751 60ft
7.572 1/8
11.810 1/4
116.76mph

Still had more in it but not enough time to make it happen.
These were my last attempt in this category before making a few mods this winter.
Pleased.

Wow that's really impressive for a stock converter. What gears and tire size are you using? How much weight have you removed from the car?
