how much creaking noises does your top make

I have seen some older threads talking about rattling sounds in their cabins or noises where the top and window come together, but curious what the average camaro has when the top is up creaking sounds?

I got mine with 2800 miles and now at 17k. it has always made annoying, and unacceptable really, sounds along the front section where top and windshield come together on both left and right. this is normal for my car summer and winter temps. i dont drive too often with the top up so i just deal with it and figure the dealer couldnt do much anyways.

whats your experience? are some of yours quiet? i have a few months of warranty left so figure i might as well ask them about it.

thanks

I have a '17 V6 RS, but I assume there's no difference in the tops (unless the ZL1 causes the frame to torque?)

Mine is still quiet, no squeaks or rattles. I guess it all depends on the tolerance/fits of the mating parts and the adjustments made at assembly.

Nice color, by the way!

Mine is basically brand new... around 2600 miles. The windows clip the top when opening the doors, when new they did not. So, there's some type of movement, stretching going on (opening the door and letting the window index stops this). As far as noises, yep..from day one. I have to go through this car with the same process as my previous one. Silicone on rubber seals, flocking tape at misc. plastic areas. lube and Velcro at latching pins. Not that I intentionally drive with the top up, but those noises drive me nuts. Personally, I wouldn't have the dealer touch my top. I just don't think they'll take the time or make the effort to do it right ...or there will be collateral damage from their work.

The top up wind noise, creaks etc. will never be perfect, but I accept that.

Mine has a creeking sound right in the center where the top and window meet not a rattle. With just slight pressure up it stops.

I am considering a felt like pad but have not really looked at it yet.

Mine sucked but after I placed the Velcro straps around the locking pins. It is much better, just on the seals now

Mine rattled and creaked pretty good - especially after a year or two. I took it into the dealer, though, and they "Adjusted" it. It fits fine now and doesn't rattle.

Thanks for all the feedback. figured i wouldnt be the only one by a long shot. Installing a small foam cushion to tighten the seal makes some sense. i can push or pull on the sides and it stops making the sounds. worth a shot. i dont think the top needs any major adjusting.

mine doesn't creak much at all - barely ever notice it, and probably now that the car has an exhaust I would never notice it. Not that I drive it with top up very much. And the top doesn't creak at all when its open like it should be!!

My top does not creak at all where the top meets the windshield. There might be a very minor rattle, but it's barely audible over the road noise at highway speeds when the stereo is off. I haven't determined if it's actually coming from the top, though.
