Come to think of it, you know how Chip Foose is running a series on youtube now where he takes bad or old designs of cars and re-imagines them with his skills to make them much better or modern? I'm going to submit a request to him to see if he'll do a modern version of the K5. |

The Bronco will already accept the 310hp/400tq 2.7EB but the architecture is the exact same for the, currently Lincoln only, 400hp/415tq 3.0EB. While it's hybrib version offers 494hp/630tq. Now the "full" hybrid system weights a LOT, but a more "mild"/smaller battery pack system equipped version could be used to augment the output to a similar output to the 392. Afterall, hybid is the buzz word of the moment. Or, skip the whole hybid option and look to utilize the HO3.5EB with it's 450hp/510tq. That may infact prove to be viable as well and it would hold Ecoboost line. The Coyote's current 480hp/420tq offers power too high in the rpm range for an offroad application. There's the possibility of an aluminium block CIB 6.8L but that's still just vaporware at the moment. Because that would honestly be the most direct "response".

Chevy design language won't bode well for a body on frame off road Blazer. Ford Bronco will sell because of looks/design/unique branding. Same as Wrangler. Most people won't off road them. Keep in mind the Bronco Sport is not even an off roader, it sits on the Escape platform. Even Ford recognizes people want it for the looks.
Chevy made the right call with the Blazer to make a beefy and exciting crossover which is selling well and gaining GM new customers. Supposedly they are considering an activ trim for light off road use. I would like to see a Blazer SS but it won't happen with the fwd platform. |

All GM needed to do to do this properly was call the soccer mom mobile they’re making now the TrailBlazer, just like the S-10 Blazer was renamed after they dropped the Blazer name for Tahoe, and then save the Blazer name for a real off-roader. Even GM’s inept 1990s management knew where the Blazer name properly belonged, and if not on a full sized off roader then on nothing. And no, that soccer mom mobile is neither beefy or exciting. It looks half decent because it’s like a Camaro 4 door hatchback but it’s a basic family sedan in every other aspect. It’s just my Mom’s LaCrosse with 4 wheel drive |

.... Over these: ................... Not gonna happen, there is no place for Chevy in that segment. There is a place for Chevy in the CUV/SUV segment and the Blazer/Trailblazer combo are selling strong. This would be interesting: ..... ..... This is the off roader Chevy offers that you're looking for: |

The last image needs a full-vert removable hard top, then maybe.
