Lower Pulley Boost Increase Comparison
I have a 2018 ZL1 with a green filter and TM ported throttle body Stock Tune
I'm considering a balancer and pulley swap soon. I'm taking baby steps first and I'm looking at three pulley sizes: 8.6 (7.5%) 9.06 (12%) 9.10 (13.75%) Keeping the stock upper 2.5 pulley, does anyone have any idea what the boost increase would be for each or any of the above sizes?? TIA |

Thanks, that helps!
Curious if anyone out there obtained those increases after installation? And if I read correctly I need to upgrade the crank seal to an LS seal? |

Really recommend headers if you are adding a lower pulley. You will need a tune anyway and pushing more air in will require a more efficient exhaust system on the back side.

Seems to be recommended but I didn't replace mine when I did the balancer swap and have had no issues so far after 1500 mules

Pulleys would be my last mods. I’d get an upgraded heat exchanger, coolant reservoir and ceramic coated headers first. I’d also add flex fuel if it’s available in your area. You will be adding heat with pulleys.

Wish we did have E85 here local, but nearest station is 25 miles away.
I know the headers would help and possibly drop the boost a little, but was just looking for mild upgrade .. If the 8.6 would truly provide a 2lb increase that would satisfy me for now...(maybe). Its a daily driver and use 93, just didnt want to go to much further than that and risk knocking and too much additional heat. Of course it'll be tuned too. May upgrade the heat exchangers too. |

If it's only 0.7 psi, it won't add that much heat (about 14-15 deg F over stock compressed temperature).

You would need a 9.17" to get close to 2PSI. The 8.6 isnt going to provide much. Also, your engine is a big air pump. If your moving more air in, you must move more air out or its simply not efficient.
