TPMS Light won’t clear

Hi guys. Sorry If this has been answered at some point before, but I have TPMS light on my dash that won’t clear after getting new wheels and tires. We verified all the sensors work because We are getting pressure readings from all tires.

Any ideas? Thanks And merry Christmas

Probably needs a relearn you will need a relearn tool or go to the dealer only takes a couple minutes

You need to set the car into relearn mode. Here is a video how and the process.

Not sure if this procedure still applies to our cars if you don't have the tool, but with older GM vehicles you could let the air out of the tire until the car honks at you. Then would proceed to do the same for each tire.

If they did just like the video above with that tool it should of worked, only thing I can think of is there are 2 different tpms sensors did you put new sensors in your new wheels and possibly the wrong ones?

Yea these sensors are tricky. I had a set on my wheels that said they were for the car and didnt work, TPMS light wouldn't go off for crap, ended up buying replacements on Shopchevyparts.com and they worked right after install with the relearn tool.

Have you disconnected the battery? If that doesn't do it you have a bad sensor.

I was pretty confident that the tire shop I worked with included the correct sensors but maybe that’s part of the issue. I’ll try to get the battery disconnected to do a hard reset and see what happens. I’ll report back

So I did a hard reset by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, put car into tire learn mode and drive for 20 mins, also put car into tire learn mode and let air out of the tires. None of these worked. Guess it’s time for a trip to the dealer after the holidays.

I purchased the wheels and tires with all new sensors. Not sure what the hang up is here.

None of those older tricks work like unplugging the battery or letting out air pressure work. They must calibrated with a relearn tool as stated above. Sounds to me like the shop put in the wrong sensors and/or didn't follow the correct relearn process.
