It was nice to see Chevy updated the entertainment system software. It responds much quicker than it did on my 2016 2SS, changing channels, switching menus, etc.

By the way, I know it is the same Bose system but it sounds much better in my 2021 than it did in my 2016? Did they upgrade any of the components. It seems to hit much harder, maybe the amps in the Bose speakers have been upgraded since then?
I agree with this strongly. My 2020 2SS Bose system sounds much better than my 2016 and 2018 2SS Bose system.

Also. My 16 had Navi and my 18 didn't. I was happy to get it back.

Not worth it IMO. Might have only used it once or twice since buying the car new. Much rather use Waze…

Ok, so I am not crazy. It is noticeably better. I recall not being all that impressed with the Bose in my 2016 2SS. It was just ok but the same system in this 2021 ZL1 sounds much better.

I have wireless Android Auto and the updated charging pad that works with modern phones, too, so I don't even have to plug my phone in—yet I tend to use the built-in navigation, mainly for these reasons: 1) it is integrated with the DIC (speed limits show up in the cluster) and the HUD (speed limits plus turn by turn navigation info), 2) it works everywhere regardless of cell reception, and 3) it has failed me less frequently than Google Maps.

Now with that said, Google Maps is obviously superior in the looks and automatic update departments. I'm one of those peculiar folks who don't mind paying $99 per year for map updates, so the factory nav is still reasonably up to date.

My only two problems are the ALL CAPS font GM decided to use in the 2016-2018 nav (why??? it's way less space efficient and much more ugly), and that the rendering has a slight 1990's tinge to it, hehe. These are mostly irrelevant little cosmetic gripes, though, the functionality I need is all there at all times.

My 2017 2SS Bose system is one of the worst OEM sound systems of all time. Truly awful. My wife’s Alfa and my ‘21 Expedition both have Bang & Olufsen systems which sound great. My last SUV was a ‘19 Sequoia and that had the JBL system which was really good too. Thankfully my exhaust is so loud I don’t bother with the Bose crap. LOL

I thought the Bose in my 21' LT1 was good for an oem system.
Of course it was 80hz sensitive but most factory systems are.

Not sure about 2021 but in 2020 without the factory NAV system you did not get HD radio.

Factory NAV not worth it - HD radio is.

The factory Bose stereo in the 2020 Camaro is absolute trash.

I thought this as well with my 2016 2SS but not so in the 2021. I just didn't see any mention of any improvements but it is very obvious. I have a Tesla Model 3 and that is one of the best factory sound systems I have ever heard in a car. This Bose in the 2021 is right there with it. Something changed, just not sure what...

Found this, maybe some of that Active Noise Cancelling tech comes into play? Funny thing is it says they are working on EV Sound Enhancement so they can play engine noises...

Your 2020 was a convertible. Oranges and apples

The BOSE in my 2021 ZL1 is very good. GM must have changed something.

Besides, why would you trust any of them? GPS is based on the shape of the world being a sphere, I doubt it works properly for the flat world you think you live on. Surely a paper map is closer to what you believe in.
Android Auto has worked "Off Line" for quite some time now. It downloads maps as you drive so if you are in a non-cell cover area, it continues to work. You can also choose to download your route before you take off as well. Either way it does work off line. My opinion is Google Maps and Android Auto./Apple Car Play is superior in every way.

I wasn't aware it downloads maps ahead of time, I appreciate the correction. I'm guessing, though, that it can't update your position when there is no signal, so you probably do lose some functionality, or at least some accuracy.

In any event, my original comment was somewhat overstated - obviously AA itself wouldn't completely stop functioning, I just meant you lose the ability to get updated information when there is no coverage.

I don't like the fact that you have to stop in order to obtain Nav. You can't even get a map up unless you stop first. I use my phone.
