Battery!
I was just quoted a price of $385 installed for a new battery! It’s a 48 month glass mat battery. Does that seem insane or what?

Yeah, I'd just get an Optima and an AGM charger and use the charger regularly.

My local walmart has the H6 battery with the side ventilation holes for about $120. Its the Everstart Maxx. I haven't have the needs to change mine but that's the route i'd go with.

I work at a battery shop here in Eastern Washington State. a Group 48 AGM would run $219.95. 48 Month and made by Deka(USA Made). Personally I would stay away from Optima. They once were the best you can find but quality and longevity have been greatly reduced in the last 2-4 years. Once Johnson Controls bought them they moved production and the quality has dropped. Stick with Deka or Odyssey if you want one that lasts.

This will be the same battery that came with your car from the factory. AC Delco is also owned by Johnson Controls. I try to stay away from any battery they make but some people swear by them. To be fair the Silver Calcium composition is actually very good. Helps fight that internal sulfation even more on top of it being AGM.
I would call around to local battery shops and se what brands they carry. If you need to warranty it buying off the internet might make things harder and more expensive, where buying local makes warranties easy and helps support the little guys.

Bought the battery from Amazon. OEM battery for $175. Dealership installed for $40. $215 total. Better than the original price they quoted me of $385 installed buying the battery through them.

Luckily I got my battery replaced at the very end of the 3 yr btb warranty. I am hoping using my CTek charger regularly will help it last longer.

I get Deka AGM batteries for my jet ski's through Lowe's web site. Ship to store for free. Agree they do last and typically they are stickered with a build date a month or two prior to my order. I have used Odyssey and I think deka is superior.

I have had great luck with Odysseys since Optimas took a dive.
I have not had to replace one yet. The one in my Vista Cruiser has been in there around 15 years. Still works great. The 2 in my Bronco still start it every time no problem but are getting tired. They are around the same age.

I'm happy with my Odyssey battery. Bought it 7 years ago.
