I know this is a hard question with COVID and the way GM works, but anyone have an rough idea of when (status code) custom build cars more or less 30 days out from delivery [to Florida]?

I want to sell my current car and I'd like some buffer space before my order gets delivered.

Once you hit status 3800 (Built), you should have it in 3-4 weeks after that, approximately. But it depends on stuff, such as if it's a 1LE needing a hood wrap and a whole host of logistics....but in essence, ~1 month after 3800.

Mine was built week of 10/18 as per the build sheet with rpo codes and was at the dealer in Ohio 11/4 when I first called about it, picked up 11/8 so 2 weeks

How does a California delivery compare with a Midwest delivery? Extra week or worse? I'm super excited now that I have a TPW of 1/24!

This is not accurate for him. Your car likely came via truck because it was <500 miles away.

He is in Miami. It's coming via rail.

You wont see it until likely mid March at best. Maybe end of March.

Ah that's disappointing, but thanks for the info! Guess my dealer was correct back in October to expect 6 months. I can't complain though since this is a swap on a Bolt EV recall 😁

Of course. Yeah, the odds of getting it in early March actually exist for you only because you didn't get a 1LE - did you order stripes at all? Anything involving vinyl wrap or stripes adds on a solid week or so of time.

You mentioned the stripes. Are they applied at the factory or offsite??
If offset, how many extra miles do they put on your new car ??

They are all brought to a spot I believe near the rail yard. They get thrown into 4B00 status (bayed), and then they come in and do a batch of stripes for all the cars. They are NOT installed on the factory assembly line, no.

How many extra miles? Probably a negligible amount...if any.

New cars are typically delivered with 3 to 7 miles on the odometer. My first 6th gen Camaro had 4 miles, this one that I drive now had 6.

From September to October, it seemed like the biggest delay was the shipping of vehicles by train and truck
