Where does this vent go? Wasp has found a home!
Hi all,
Today a mother-massive wasp flew into my car and decided that the vents at the back look like a nice place to disappear. I've emptied the boot to try and find it but looks like its gone somewhere else. Assuming its a queen, given the time of year, I'm concerned that she's going to find a lovely place to build a nest over the winter time. So I need to try and find it. Question is - where do these vents go please, could I spray some wasp killer somewhere (where?) to try and kill it? My neighbour suggested spraying it into the air vents on re-circulate with maxmium blowers and leaving it for 10 minutes so that the wasp killer goes through the car - however, I'd like to know if that would actually reach the same pipes as these vents at the back? Any help would be enormously appreciated. Thanks, Paul. |

Those vent to the trunk, the trunk vents to the rear fender wells. However there is a cavity around the speakers that is pretty much inaccessible. I chased a fly in there yesterday. Just open the trunk and windows and it will leave.

Or you could introduce a supply a douche load of wasp and flea killer into the vent and hope for the best.

Put a half full can of coke in the cup holder. Leave the windows closed. Problem solved. Thank me later.

Thanks all. I had the boot open most of the afternoon, so I'm hoping it has flown out, but I didn't spot it leaving.
However, I'll attack it with all the suggestions. I'll spray the vents with wasp killer, and leave some coke in the car when i leave, and beyond that just drive it and hope that it'll dry it out as we're travelling - and then leave the boot open when I get home for a few days/weeks. Fingers crossed!! Flippin' hates wasps I do. The irony that my car looks like a bumblewasp wasn't lost on me... |

Yellow car issues. Bugs love my car. 5 minutes after I park they arrive and try to mate with it lol.

Then all you need to do is wait till he crashes from lack of sleep and kick out all the hookers.

You may want to be careful spraying wasp killer into the vents or on any plastic surfaces as certain types can damage plastic. It's also toxic and you may not want to introduce it into your ventilation system. JMHO :-)

I thought the same thing but I figured this would be a given. Guess that’s why they have “warning” all over everything.
